We have less disposable income this year than ever before. I want to buy games, my wife wants to buy games, the kids want to buy games. But collectively we've come to the decision that utill they make the "Porkstation 3" or the "XBiscuit 360" it's better to spend money on food.
@Metasin: I think the point I was trying to get at with Tomb Raider as an example is the trend of DLC being available at launch. How is this possible? If DLC has it's own development cycle, I don't think it's a stretch of the imagination to think that in a lot of cases it was ready before the master discs went to print.
I don't think DLC is a bad thing across the board (jesus I've bought way more than I should have, GH&RB tracks mostly), I just think that developers have way too much freedom in determining what constitutes as an "Add-on" and maybe Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo (to an extent) should worry less about exclusives and take a more active role in getting developers to justify what is on sale on their marketplaces.
I liked this game too, my only complaint is it's a bit short, but that makes it a great rental for anyone who hasn't played it yet. Other survival horror/action horror games you should try are Silent hill 2, Resident Evil 2 and my personal favorite "The Suffering", goddamn that game was good, fantastic use of sound, definitely check it out!
You should never personalise companies, or assume they are doing anything for you. They are faceless money making machines. Don't have any loyalty to them just use them. It's not as if they even know your name.
