What I love about this video is, it's like one of the tangents Jeff, Ryan, Brad, and Vinny go off on during the Bombcast talking about some video they'll make or something happening, except they actually did it and made it into a video. So priceless.

I think their needs to be a healthy balance between challenge and letting the narrative of the story move along without feeling like a broken record starting over every time you die. I've noticed that, for certain games, I don't mind if it's not super hard because I want the story to move on satisfyingly. I actually really noticed this while playing the superb game, Mass Effect. The game, for the most part, is not hindered by insanely difficult boss battles that force you to watch the same cutscene or make the same group of decisions a million times before you get it right. This made the game's story much more satisfying for me, because I got to participate and then see how bad ass my Shepard really was. So, I think we're at an age where a story-driven game doesn't neccessarily need to be super hard. It does need to be complete and not feel like because it wasn't difficult it was incredibly short. But, with story-telling capabilities currently at gamemaker's disposal, frustratingly difficult gameplay is no longer neccessary to keep the player with their game for 10-20 hours. Great post SpikeDelight.

They actually wrote 4 novels. And they are all great! The fourth and most recent novel (came out a little under a year ago) is called Order 66 and tells what happens to the commandos when Order 66 is made. The novels are top notch, real page turners. You should check them out if you enjoy the Republic Commando storyline, definitley worth it.

I wonder if Jeff will get it...after all this time it's actually coming out. Can he accept that? I don't know if I can.
