Games That Irritate/Exercise the Perfectionist in Me

Ever have a game where you spend hours upon hours trying to get that perfect run? And then one thing goes wrong and you start all over. For maximum enjoyment, play on hardest difficulty when possible.

(In no particular order)

List items

  • Much like Dr. Neville I was constantly yelling at my TV: I CAN SAVE EVERYONE! Meanwhile 3 survivor timers are ticking down and no shortcuts have been unlocked.

  • With detailed enemy behavior and a hierarchical disguise system, you can easily spend an hour fine tuning that perfect run, only to have it screw up at the last moment. Thank you Guard 2 for interrupting me while I was sedating your coworker.

  • Sure you could run through shooting everything in your path, but think of all that wasted ammo.

  • When the in game battery drains faster than the laptop running it, you're gonna have a hard time. Plus with such a huge area, times flies trying to explore everything without getting spotted.

  • It's hard doing a non-lethal walkthrough when the enemy can spot you a mile away and you shoot like a small child at the firing range for the first time.

  • I don't know what frustrates me more: Going through the missions trying to complete those challenges or waiting on the loading screens after I fail miserably.

  • Such small levels with such great attention to detail required.

  • Between trying to conserve health to be able to sell herbs and finding all the secrets amid a zombie apocalypse, I've never loved checkpoints more than in this game. (At least Frank has a place to call home)

  • Using those stealth takedowns as much as possible to save up the multiple executions for when you needed them takes good timing, patience, and more good timing.

  • Who am I kidding? After a while it was just me running like a maniac away from everything.
