Alright so you guys were talking who the Steam Link is for. You would wonder why a "PC Master Race" guy with a dope PC setup would want this thing.
Well I'm that guy. I made myself tiny bare bones PC that runs Steam OS before the Steam Link was announced. I play most of my games at my desk but there are a lot of PC ports of console games that just play better with a controller and sitting at my desk with a controller is an option but sometimes the console experience of sitting on my couch in my living room is more pleasant. I've played all of Dark Souls 2, some of the Assassin's Creeds , MGSV and a bunch of other games this way and I enjoyed it.
I'm going to be honest, my knee jerk reaction to this whole thing was "What a bunch of divas. Why would those guys get better treatment when developers already have the short end of the stick?"
After looking into it some more, I realized how this makes a lot of sense. Maybe I'm biased on this because I'm a software developer and I've seen how much of a shitty job a game developer can be and that's why I have no desire to work on games. I hope this is a first step for everybody to get a better treatment in the whole industry. Pretty much everyone works hard in this industry and they all deserve to be treated fairly.
