I got the PS4 at launch and the X1 two or three months ago, honestly there isnt a lot of difference between the machines and any games i have played on either have been fine. In the end my decision was based on a few things, A - Final Fantasy XIV was coming to PS4, B - All that BS Microsoft tried to pull, C - The pretty big price difference. I also burned through half a dozen 360s and only 2 PS3s and as much as i was at one point invested in the gamerscore thing i fell off real fast. The main problem it has caused though is a complete fragmentation of my friendship group, half on one, half on the other, about the only thing we all play together now is FFXIV and only because those without PS4s can play it on PC.

There are now some exclusives heading to both consoles that i want but at the start there wasnt really anything much of a difference save the resolution and frame rate debacle that i really dont care about.

I played a fairly big chunk of the first one and lots of the MMO but never did play the second game despite owning it, fixing my pc up at the moment but i can totally see myself booting this up at some point (after i complete the first one though).

I had some fun with the 360 game when it launched, it wasnt terrible, just not very good. Sounds like this game is what i was expecting from the original so i'll definetly check it out, one thing though, do you get any more of the absurd battles like the zombie killer whale from the previous game?

I'll be logging onto this towards the weekend, needing to finish rebuilding my machine first, its in a bad way lol. I worry that getting invested in the JP one again, even with the translation is going to lead to having very few people to play with, there is always the danger that someone is going to report us for not being Japanese too and get our accounts banned. Is there a big presense on the JP servers? When i played there was next to no one on and i had to solo most of the stuff...in Japanse (we didnt have the patch back then)

Are you just starting out? I had a character on the JP servers during the first year but gave up on it due to not being able to play with anyone for fear of being reported and blocked. I think a bunch of folk are flocking to the SEA version for that reason, I'm going to myself just as soon as i finish rebuilding my PC.

I've been enjoying myself getting to grips with the new jobs and collecting the new gear, i see the added the EX mission for the final fight already too as well as the new currency and ways to get/upgrade Doman armor (no more seal grinding!). I do feel the u'ldah missions should have been kept out of the expansion, it felt weird to put our war in Ishguard on hold to run back and forward to there when it would have been better served as story content for one of the smaller updates. Still, i enjoyed and still enjoy my time in Eorzea, cant wait to see what the 3.0 version of the Crystal Tower trilogy dungeons will end up being...

I play accross PS4, Xbox Live, Nintendo network and Steam so i may be on at random times, if anyone wants in the preview program drop me a message, my phone will let me know its waiting. I dont tend to play games online against people as much as i will compete for lap/course times in games like Need for Speed and Riptide, love to race all your course ghosts ^_^

Not a fan of making things look more real, if i look out the window i can see real stuff, i play games to get away from all that crap outside which is probably why i prefer games that are cell shaded, stylised or more fantastical to look at. I understand the drive to make super real looking games but i just dont share it, there is room enough in todays video gaming marketplace for both view points though.

Dont call Square, use their online support, they will be able to action your request to get your old account back, they helped a couple of my friends do the same thing but the telephony support is a nightmare. You can change your race with a fantasia, you can either buy one or you can get one free with heavnsward or by being subbed to the games for a time, be warned, you cant change your name so if you have a guy/girls name be mindfull before switching sex. Im in the UK so i cant speak for the US folks time wise, i run into a lot of Japanese folk using DF on my server but not too many Americans but its a big country, someone is bound to be awake. You will get access to all content before 3.0 and any quests from 3.0 that are not based in the new zones, i recommend you buy the expansion once you reach the end of the 2.0 story line as you cant go to the new zones until you finish the main story all the way.

Looks like we have a greenlight on EU payments, will get this done tonight ^_^
