Jon Bois' article on killing the NBA is one of the greatest things I've ever read. I laughed, I cried, and I felt moments of true despair. That was fantastic.

From what I've been able to gather, it looks like Borderlands without the ridiculously garbage shooting that comes along with those games. The leveling progression for characters and weapons that's been shown and stuff also seems a bit more in depth and interesting. Of course without having played I can't say anything definitive, but if they actually pull off even just a Borderlands style game with Bungie quality shooting then I am completely on board. We shall see I suppose.

Hopefully they finally show some of the competitive multiplayer at E3 this week. It would be really nice to see how the different classes look fighting against each other.

My level of excitement for this is completely unreasonable. Hurray for positive things! It's nice to see that the internet can be a force for good from time to time.

Well it took me some doing as I used to dislike the taste of most beers a lot, but now I prefer to have a good beer with a meal rather than most other drinks even if I have no intention of getting drunk. It is most certainly an acquired taste though. Unfortunately, when I was young, on separate occasions, I drank way too much vodka, and another, way too much Jameson. If I smell either I instantly start to feel nauseous. I drink water, soda and the like super fast, and I came to find that I also did that with alcohol. I had to actively think about drinking slower, but once I actually started drinking reasonable amounts rather than to excess I had some great times. If you're getting sick when you drink something perhaps drink it with slightly more moderation, and also be sure that you've had a decent amount to eat that day. That will help keep you less likely to get sick, or at least it has in my experience.

But as others have said, if you truly dislike the taste there's absolutely nothing wrong with not drinking.

I'm surprised at the current results of this to be honest. I like Goblet of Fire fine, but it ranks down near the bottom with Order of the Phoenix as far as the ones I'm not a huge fan of so seeing it winning this pole is shocking to me. Though the one that truly surprises me is Order of the Phoenix. That is the only Harry Potter book that I actually view as being kind of bad. Every character bugs the crap out of me throughout the entire story, including Harry and Dumbledore. That is a recipe for disaster as far as me liking a book of this nature go. There are books and series where the characters are despicable and unlikable but it suits the story. A large part of Harry Potter is actually loving the characters on the page. Disliking them is like meeting an old friend only to discover that he became a whiny jerk during the time you were apart. Then the reward for reading through the awfulness of that book is Sirius, one of my favorite characters, dying. That would have been fine if it had been earned, but it just felt so out of character and random that I was simply irritated rather than distraught. I really dislike the fifth book if you couldn't tell haha.

Sorcerer's Stone is fantastic and was simply a perfect way to start off what may be the greatest series of literature of our era. Chamber of Secrets is very good, but doesn't attain the heights that the first one does. I constantly go back and forth between saying Azkaban and Sorceror's Stone are my favorite prior to the sixth and seventh books coming out. Azkaban is just so damn good. The sixth restored my faith in J.K. Rowling after having it somewhat rattled by the fifth book. Half-Blood Prince is fantastic and brought back the character interactions in such a way that they weren't simply whiny and annoying while also allowing them to build and grow in a believable, and sometimes very dark, manner. Dumbledore is also fantastic in it so that always helps. In the end, however, Deathly Hallows is one of, if not the, best books I've ever read. It was the first book that I read after getting out of high school that actually wrapped me around its finger and wouldn't let me put it down until I had read the last sentence. I was enthralled. Deathly Hallows is wildly different from the other books while somehow keeping the same tone and wonder of the other books. A masterpiece among masterpieces and so it is my favorite of the series.

Persona 4 (Golden now that I have a Vita to do so) generally multiple time a year. I generally start a playthrough around 4/11. I've played through every Mass Effect that was out at the time every year since each one has come out. That now includes the entire series. Currently half way through Mass Effect 3 after having bought the trilogy for PS3.

Halo 2 is far and away my favorite game in the series, but that's because the single player of each one has very little impact on my enjoyment of each one. Halo 2 had far and away my favorite maps and gameplay as far as multiplayer is concerned. I played so many thousands of Halo 2 matches that it's ridiculous. I played plenty of Halo 3, Reach, and 4, but none of those come even close, in my opinion, to the masterpiece that is Halo 2 multiplayer. I always felt that equipment in Halo 3 was broken, and so never enjoyed it as much as I perhaps could have.

So while your points about the single player are absolutely true I just can't hold anything against Halo 2.

I clearly started playing whilst way too damn tired. My first death came as I wandered directly off a ledge in the tutorial area. I believe I've died about 8 times. Of those, I believe 6 were to falling unceremoniously off cliffs. I'm hoping my play time tonight will involve less exploration of endless abysses. They have not been as fun as you would imagine.
