The only reason I could think of that would cause a problem with a monitor would be HDCP-related, but after quickly looking it up right now it appears that your monitor supports it. I suppose your converter could be messing with it, but that doesn't seem too likely.
"Well, Bioshock is one game - Metal Gear Solid is a franchise. You can't really compare the two, because the story of the Metal Gear games is serious fan service that practically requires playing the previous games or at least doing some out of game research to get it. Bioshock is a standalone story, and a good one at that.
I vote Bioshock."
I don't see how having to practically play the games factors into this at all. Knowing the story is part of judging its quality. You admit we're talking about the franchise here, and yet that argument only works when talking about any particular game in the series.

"The argument started over which one has better storytelling. MGS has the better story, Halflife has the better presentation(first person, immersion, whatnot). Also, pointless thread much? "
If this is the case then I'm not sure which to pick. If it were still BioShock then I'd probably lean toward it for better storytelling. MGS has a better story, though, in my opinion.
"Dude, call one of her friends and get her MSN or phone number, dont wait till Monday or she wont think your serious, call her and say something like 'hey, hows your weekend, doing anything on sunday?". Its cheezy, but it should work."
That is stalker advice, getting someone's IM from another person is being a stalker!"
... no it isn't?"
I'll assume this is a question.
The answer, is, "yes, it is."
"
Hexpane, Ark, and I have it right. Stay safe people and don't do drugs!"
I have been IM'ed by people who asked someone else for it when they couldn't find me all the time. I do that occasionally too when I need to ask a question and don't have their phone number or anything. It's not "stalker"-like at all."
I've gotten and given someone's information this way as well, but the conditions were different. I think they may mean it could give the appearance of being stalker-ish to the girl in this situation.
Perhaps you could be more specific. I've been using Firefox ever since the site launched and I haven't encountered this, so there must be something more to it than just using Firefox.
"And the moral of the story is: Playstations break too. Everything breaks. I have a working NES and a broken PS2. It's pretty random. This whole "Microsoft puts out shitty hardware and doesn't care" thing is bullshit. Microsoft and Sony are equally shitty. Treat your systems good and they'll last longer."
First, you're wrong about the moral because that wasn't the point. The point seemed to be that they sent him a lesser replacement. Second, your defense of their hardware is laughable as the RRoD problem is pretty well established at this point.
