I played the XBOX 360 and PC demos this morning, and it's simply better on PC.

Reasons..

1. Graphically, the game needs to be appreciated with its detail. Dragon Age is more immersive than most RPG games... nothing should be skipped or glanced over if you can help it. Take your time in the world and you'll be rewarded. PC offers this opportunity over Xbox...

2. Constantly attacking with the control pad may feel nice to some, but it's distracting to what makes Dragon Age good. If you play a Dragon Age game, you should be thinking tactics and combinations. Letting your character auto-attack frees you up for strategy and planning. Far more exciting combat in this case.

3. Interface is important in this game. They've done a great job reducing the interface to necessity. When you have to navigate the interface with a less intuitive control system, it seems to disconnect the player with from the successful changes they made.

The game will be great either way, but if you can help it at all, pick it up on PC and dig deep into this one. Play Bulletstorm for fast action and gratification. Play Dragon Age 2 for depth and experience. Well, Bulletstorm is deep in it's own right, but in a different manner.

The gameplay and environment in this game are remarkable. It's hard to really appreciate these things sometimes, as we sit and consume so much media we forget what goes into it. The environment of this game is truly unique and inspired. Developers who manage to create an IP that feels fresh and innovative deserve the highest accolades.

The dick jokes, however, culminate to become the worst dialogue in any game ever. Also, the over-saturated steroid voices of every character are so comedically bad, that I have to play most of the game with the sound off.

You can write an inspiring speech, but you can't dress up a foul-mouthed fat kid, have him deliver it, and still call it a good speech. Presentation has to cover everything.  It's the same feeling you get when you go on a date with an awkward and forward girl, and she can't stop sabotaging herself and making the situation worse. It's like when you go into a bathroom in someone's house and they've filled the room with potpourri but someone just used it and all you get is a flowery butt smell.

So much for video games getting respect. This is always a set back. I'll forever have to try to defend video games as a respectable and viable form of entertainment as long as this kind of stuff gets put into games.

The monitor is directly connected to the XBOX with an HDMI cable. I've tried it in 720p and 1080p both in the Xbox settings. The monitor is a Hanns-G... couldn't see the model number. I'll have to investigate that...

Just got through trying Red Dead, Darksiders, and Monday Night Combat. All looking pretty bad.

I've got my setup going where I can switch between computer and Xbox 360. I wanted to use my monitor so I could see the HD graphics. So far, awful awful awful. They look really terrible. They look worse than games on my computer in 800x600 resolution. I'm easily getting MUCH better graphics from my VGA hookup and on my OLD big screen TV with component cables... this seems backwards.

I realize that with HD, you can see flaws probably more accurately, but this isn't just a small downgrade... it's nearing PS2 era graphics.

Agreed w/ Lambert. They need to put time and effort into their games. I'm shocked we're already seeing brotherhood this year and frankly, I am skeptical.

Maybe Desilets didn't wanna take AC back to Italy again just because the franchise sold well with #2.
