I absolutely need to play this game now. I've been wanting to play Demon's Souls for a while but the lack of a PS3 has not allowed me the pleasure. I love difficult games that can be conquered with just enough skill and knowledge. I'm definitely picking Dark Souls up now that it's on the Xbox360.

Dragon Age: Origins and Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion for me.

Dragon Age: Origins I think I just need to try a new character or something, but I just can't get into the supporting cast as much as I want to. Though the look of the game throws me off. I just don't think the way armour looks in the game is appealing at all, and there's something about the way the characters look I'm not fond of. Yet, I'm a fan of both Baldur's Gate games. I don't know why Origins didn't sit well with me. Maybe it's because I was also playing it on the Xbox360 as I lack a suitable PC.

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was a game I REALLY wanted to like. Morrowind was one of my favourite games from the previous console generation (having played it on the XBox and loved it) so I thought more of the same style of game would be great. While I liked the quests and the vast amounts of things to do, I couldn't get past the character design. I'm also going to take some of the blame on this one too, as I went in playing a character spec'd for unarmed combat, which as I now know does sweet crap all for killing dudes. Cut to me grinding out my axe and sword skills for the next 5 hours so I can actually be useful in combat.
Surprisingly though, I really dug the look I achieved with my character despite giving him the biggest nose I possibly could. I think a key tip for making your character look good in that game is to exaggerate the facial features since normal looking people look weird in Oblivion. That's just me though.

Meanwhile, Udon is putting out their huge Mega Man fanart book fairly soon (if it isn't already released that is) in which they received somewhere in the hundreds for entries (just from Deviant Art alone, not sure on other entries). Yeah, Mega Man doesn't have that many fans seems like they're just trying to blame the people and not themselves. I get that MML3 was game made with the help of the fans, but from everything I've seen of this game it looked rather professionally done.

It's weird for me to be outraged by this since I wasn't into the project -- I love Mega Man, but I'm not getting a 3DS so there's that -- but it's just the bitter assholery brought on by Capcom's PR people and Dev teams that has been grating on my nerves. Though, from my perspective I saw this coming as I tend to find Capcom as a company that doesn't go too far from what it knows. Hence why they like selling the games to us. Or at least that's just my opinion.

Great article, dude! You're already proving (to me at least) why you're one of the best gaming journalists out there with this story. Top notch stuff!

I'm interested to see where CoD is going to be in the next five or so years. Right nows it's huge, and I know that they haven't fully tapped the FPS market dry (yet), but I'm wondering if in 5 years there will be a gross oversaturation of FPSs and the CoD franchise in general. I mean, we already have a lot of FPSs coming out (less so now than there were a year or two ago) but at this point in time CoD already seems a little too milked. I never played Black Ops, but I hear it was awesome (more of the same great gameplay PLUS JFK versus Zambies, I mean, c'mon!), but the fact is I'm not sure how high up the CoD franchise will go before it begins falling.

It'll be interesting to see how the next few years play out.

Welcome,   Patrick!

I want my gaming news delivered in all of the above ways! Make it happen!

Seriously a think a little text reporting on the major stuff and then a news wrap up show would be perfect. He can sit behind a huge, elaborate desk (probably made of some combo of steel and glass) with a Giantbomb logo on it, and say things in a stoic, news reporter-y way. Awesome.

Normally I'm cool with whatever cockamamie plot a game is going to throw at me. It's not my story that's being told so I tend just watch the plot unfold and try to enjoy it. Of course, I don't condone forcing yourself to enjoy something. That's just ridiculous.

With that said, I'd change two game plots. Fallout 3's plot and Dragon Age: Origins'.

Fallout 3: I didn't really care for the "find your dad" plot line. It wasn't a bad plot, but I found myself wholly more invested in the side plots and missions. I honestly didn't care too much about finding my character's father. Though I think that was mostly because he was technically a weird amalgamation of British and Italian. So really, my bad on that side. However, I would have preferred to do something besides find my dad and then SUDDENLY get thrust into stopping a biochemical weapon. Honestly: I wanted more of the biochemical weapon plot! It reminded me of Fallout 2 what with trying to find the GECK. That's not to say that Fallout 3 should be exactly like Fallout 2. They are separate entities.

Dragon Age: Origins: The story isn't really moving me. I honestly don't care about it. I'm using present tense here because I haven't finished the game. I know, I know. I plan on finishing it. Maybe my thought will change then. Heck, I've changed my mind about stories before. So how would I fix Dragon Age? Well, I'm going to fix it myself by restarting the game and make a clone of Duncan just to see how awkward I can make it.

I have a tendency to insert my own stories into open world RPGs like that. Most of the time I do love the plots of these games. I thought KOTOR and Fallout 2, for example, were amazing. Same with games like Morrowind or Fable 2. When I can make my character look and act any way I chose, then I like to do things I think my character would do.
