@karmosin: I agree with pretty much everything you've said. The first bit of the game I did feel a little disappointed with the environment but now that I'm venturing into other areas it's really growing on me. Even more so now that I mostly leave runner's vision completely disabled forcing me to really explore to find the (best) routes to my destination. Occasionally I'll still turn it back on if I really get stuck and can't find my way to a waypoint, but mostly I leave it off.

So far I don't really mind the combat but I'm still not sure whether I really like it. It can be a lot of fun when there are multiple guys and you can use your speed and attack variety to your advantage but it can also be really tedious. Especially against those guys with the stun guns (I think they're supposed to be stun guns). When I'm fighting against those dudes it just feels like I'm spamming the heavy kick over and over. Hell, the light attack doesn't even work; he just grabs your foot, every single time.

In a way I'd say the fighting feels like the running, where with practice you will get better and better at it and find better and faster ways to take down your opponents. Of course by the time I get to the end of the game I could realize I'm completely wrong and that the combat is still exactly what it is right now. Even so, I don't hate it, with the exception of the forced fights. I'm supposed to be a runner. I run. That's what the whole game is about. So when you force combat on me, it just feels like I'm being cheated. Fortunately this doesn't happen often (so far). And when it doesn't force me into combat I absolutely love smacking a dude in the face as I"m running at him full speed and just race past the entire group.

SMACK! IN YOUR FACE! BYEEEEEEEE! HAHAHA! Something like that :D

As for the skill unlocks. I can see why people don't like them but I don't have any real problems with it. They unlock relatively fast and in a way it allows me to get accustomed to new moves.

So for me, personally, I'm giving this game a 4/5 so far. I don't really care about the story. I just love running, running, running. If you are someone who cares about story and aren't really into the parkour aspect of this game then I can see that this game scores a lot lower for you.

I just wish they would fix the damn cut scenes sync issue. Fuck that shit is frustrating.

You're not alone, no. In my own personal opinion I'm not very good at games either. And, like you, I don't have much of a competitive drive. Or to be more accurate, I think my competitive drive is probably too high. Whenever I play any kind of multiplayer game where I have to compete against others I will pretty much always end up getting angry with myself if I'm not doing well. And the not doing well part is almost always because I don't have the time to dedicate to any one game to get really good at it.

The one difference between us is that I think that I used to be pretty good at games. I remember doing a pretty good job at the original Unreal Tournament but during that time it was pretty much all I played and I was 16-17 years younger (I'm 34 now). Now, however, whenever I go up against my much younger colleagues I get absolutely owned. A product of "old" age and lack of practice I guess.

But fuck it, I try not to let it get to me. So what if I play games on a lower difficulty? It's a hobby I mostly enjoy as a means of relaxing and if I have to lower the difficulty in a game to achieve that so be it.

@ford_dent: Haha yeah I really loved that part. It was another hint about his character's struggle with his darker (slightly unstable?) nature. Or at least that's how it came across to me :D

Watched The Drop a couple days ago and absolutely loved it. There was a constant tension all throughout the film but not in a way that felt cheap or forced. Tom Hardy's performance was one of his best yet (Warrior is still best in my opinion). It's hard to talk about the development of his character without spoiling the movie but suffice to say that he does a superb job at feigning innnocene while also giving you (the viewer) the feeling that this guy is probably the most dangerous of them all.

The only thing I'd hold against it is the twist/reveal of the bad guy. I feel that it came too early and as soon as it happened I kinda already knew how it was going to end for that character. But in a way I guess it speaks even more to the quality of this movie that even with that knowledge I was still wholly invested and on the edge of my seat.

I would definitely give this a 5/5.

While this is thankfully a minority, it is such a shame that this minority is so loud and so prevelant. Don't these idiots realize that they're giving all of us a bad image?

Actually, I think they, on some level, do know but they just don't give a fuck.

Just wondering if anyone here has encountered this bug? Dan has talked about it a couple of times on the Giant Bombcast and, like he said, the only fix is to delete your save game folder and start over.

The difference between me and Dan's situation is that we don't use different Steam accounts on the same Windows profile. But judging from the Steam forums and Google results I'm not the only one and there's nothing from Bethesda or iD that they're working on a fix.

So, yeah, it's happened several times, to the point where I've gotten fed up with it and requested a refund. Which kinda pisses me off even more because I was really enjoying the game. But hey, if neither publisher or deveoper say anything meaningful about it other than "delete your save and start over" I'm very quickly done with it.

Sorry about the long rant but, fuck, I'm aggrevated lol.

Anyone else had this problem? And what do you think about Bethesda's/iD's lack of communication on this issue? Do you think they'll make a patch or, like a lot of Bethesda published games, just ignore it and hope the angry people just go away quietly?

@monetarydread:$120 is indeed a hefty price for a keyboard, but it does look like an interesting solution. Right now I just have my keyboard on my lap and my mouse on the couch next to me. It's far from ideal, but I can make it work.

@monkeyking1969: If it works, it works is what I always say.
