Yeah, I agree that there becomes a point where fanart can be rather graphic.
If it's going to stay here for whatever reason, it'd be nice if it was split off from the rest of the fanart so people who want to avoid it can do so imo.
Do you have smart tags on Word? I've noticed that Word "smart tags" a lot of proper nouns (it pops up with like an 'i' icon asking if you want to do further options). If so, maybe it's just copying and pasting the text and not the smart tags themselves.
I've recently completed the Famous Friends quest set... sort of.
I didn't receive a notification when I finished it, even when I refreshed. I thought I might have got an answer wrong, but no:
"The Hooded Blazer" is named as a recently earned quest (the last one I had to do). Instead of telling me what number I finished, the profile says, "6 of 6 1100 XP available UNCOMMON"
And at the top of the quest page, it says:
"Easiest Set You Don't Have Yet: Famous Friends"
I don't know if it gave me the exp or not - it probably did as it lists the quest as done, but I thought I'd let you know it's refusing to acknowledge the quest set is complete.
Browser: Firefox 3.5.2 Operating System: Windows XP Link: http://www.giantbomb.com/profile/khantael/quests/ < that's what shows the problem. I can't link to the page that triggered the issue by completing the Hooded Blazer quest as it'd be spoiling it for users who don't know.
Thought I'd give you all an update now it's sorted:
Turns out that Zone Alarm has been disagreeing with the updates made to the site. Setting custom groups for Whiskey Media sites and setting it to allow everything and not adblock made no difference, but getting rid of the adblocking in general seems to have allowed it to work. So, if anybody happens to use Zone Alarm and hasn't had any issues before with videos playing and it's suddenly started up, it could well be that.
@LordAndrew: Yes. It sounds very... formatting-wise, rather than video wise. That's what I was trying to say and got a bit tongue tied lol. Never thought of clearing it though, because sometimes I am an idiot.
Okay, log cleared, it says:
GA_googleFillSlot is not defined http://media.giantbomb.com/media/ads/js/ads_10019.js Line: 1
That's the sole error.
And thanks for being so patient with me, Andrew.
Edit: It's also just returned a "not defined" error on line 59 of this page (as in, this thread) but it still posted.
And it goes through this continually with what appears to be most properties of the code (there's one border-radius, one for box-shadow etc.). Could that be the issue? The thing is, from those names, it sounds like the issue is it reading the code and formatting.
And the other thing is why the issue suddenly started when there used to be no problem…
I tried to access it directly, and I get a white screen. It has a video bar at the bottom which is more than I'm getting here - but it's non-functional at 00:00 and paused only. Does that help any?
Giantbomb is whitelisted on adblock and doesn’t seem to be causing issues.
What LordAndrew says does sound about right though. I’ll have a play around and see if I can find if the flash is being blocked anywhere, I think I might know what to do.
Edit: Andrew, how did you block the necessary flash file?
For what it's worth, tinkering around with what I know what to do has yielded the same results: videos play with no script active but Giantbomb not allowed, but not with no script disabled or Giantbomb allowed through permissions. It's really baffling me. :/
