huge ff fan. played through VI and onwards (until XII anyways, but we won't get into that here!) and dabbled in the preceding ones. i think V would be my next adventure. hopefully someone else heeds these recommendations, because they are stellar games.
having been an xbox man for years, i just got my first ps3 tonight and am blown away by the titles available on PSN. So many games that i never got the chance to play through, like RE2, vagrant story, and parasite eve. with so many newer ps3 exclusives to catch up on as well, i'm wondering which of these classics are absolute musts whose greatness still shines through after all these years. Thanks for the input!
$200 (CND) for a 6-month old ps3. Unsure of whether it is 160 or 240 gb (like it really makes a difference) but it comes with yakuza 3 and (shudder) bro-ops. as a 360 owner i've been unable to play apparent gems such as uncharted, mgs4, or any fighting game for that matter. so i'm wondering, does this deal seem decent to you duders?
i've played very few of those, but i will be another to attest to machinarium's greatness. gorgeous artwork, a super neato setting, and puzzles that will challenge and reward. do it!
@SuperCycle: I can't wait until the current generation of mindless reagan-loving politicians are dead and gone so that some fresh and forward-thinking ideas can be put into action.
I'm not too knowledgeable about the finer details, but when Portugal was faced with an addiction epidemic they conducted a little experiment in which they made all illicit substances legal. And, it worked. They had a complete societal turnaround, and it goes to show that America's take on the situation (essentially the polar opposite of Portugal) is just not be the way to go.
America's system is based around criminalizing sick people, and sending them to jail only propagates an endless and expensive cycle that could better be dealt with by giving these people the tools they need to battle the demon that is addiction. When it comes to dealing with addiction the people that run this continent are clueless, idiotic, and spineless, and have changed virtually nothing about policies that were created over 50 years ago even in the face of the myriad research that has been done on the the subject since.
