Divinity 2: the Dragon Night Saga - yay or nay?

Hey there,

I was wondering if anyone could "counsel" me on Dragon Night Saga... I haven't actually played any of the Divinity games, and so I was wondering if this pack would be worth my money or not.
If you're reading this and you've played any of the games in the Saga or this pack itself, would you kindly let me know if you think it's worthy or not?

Thanks!

I know this is an old post, did you ever pick up Divinity Ii: TDS?  I have it for the 360 and love it.

@Rasgueado: First of all, thanks for your comment :) And yeah, I've heard there are quite a few flaws concerning Divinity 2, but all in all, I usually end up really liking most eastern european games, despite everything. Anyway, a friend of mine bought the Dragon Night Saga, so I'll borrow it from him and play a couple of hours before actually making a final decision. But I do admit I'm inclined to go for it... I mean, hell, it can't possible be worse than ArcaniA, lol.

This is actually kinda tough to answer. Divinity 2 is radically different in some respects from Divine Divinity. Beyond Divinity was more similar, but still different enough to even put some people off (I still thought it was kinda cool). The problem with Divinity 2 (which is not corrected in the remastered version) is that there are some fundamental mis-steps with the way the game is made. There is far less expansive exploration than there was in the original, and it feels like there is less choice in how you accomplish a lot of your tasks, with fewer consequences for your decisions.  I might be a little nit-picky about it... but it feels about as constricting as a fable game. Divine Divinity was like Ultima VII crossed with Diablo... this one is... not.

Short version: it's an eastern european game. There are some cool bits, but there's a bunch that's also kinda broken.

I was going for the PC version, yeah-- and will, actually. I was already very much inclined to buy it, I just needed an opinion from someone who had actually played the games; you've just "sold" me the game, hehe.
Thanks for your feedback, much appreciated! :)
