People need to deal with mediocrity better.

People know full well how to deal with good games and bad games, but no one seems knows how to deal with a game that is right in the middle. I've said it million times, but people that only play like the 5 star games don't know what a bad game is. I don't want this to to be a "Oh you play the popular games, so you suck" thing. I'm saying mediocre games are not amazing, but they are mostly just pleasant. Not every game you play has to be the most amazing thing ever.

I just beat Red Faction Armageddon, not the most amazing game I've ever played but it it was pleasant. There were no glitches, it never locked up on me, the controls were good, it entertained me for a week, it was just not the most novel game ever. I thought what more could I reasonably ask for from it. You could say "Well it could have been an open world game like the last one." What if there was an open world and it totally sucked? Jeff talked about when he gave Zelda: Ocarina of Time a 10 out of 10. The other editors said "Are you sure? what it if it was fully voiced?" to which Jeff said "What if it did have voice and it was terribly done? That would make it worst." This is not only true about Red Faction but great mediocre games like Alpha Protocol, wet, vanquish, dragon age 2, castlevania lords of shadow, the saboteur, mercs 2, two worlds 2, singularity. All those games are not amazing, but they are not bad either.

I got your Infamous Multiplayer right here.

It's basically Uncharted's multiplayer but classed based. The justification for it is simple. You take the evil ending and split it up into the conduits on Cole's side, and the condults not on Cole's side.  All the classes would have the pea shooter, the grenade, and can climb.

  • The Medic would be the electric guy, they can revive people and grind on power lines.
  • The Scout would be the Ice guy with ice lunch, and ice shield.
  • The Demolition would be the Fire guy with all the fire powers and missiles.
I can't think of anything interesting for assault, sniper or spy.

What are you going to play during the summer down time?

At the end of this month we have Shadows of the damned and dungeon siege 3. At the end of next month we have Catherine. Deus Ex: HR at the the end of August and nothing in the whole month of September.   Maybe it's just down time for me, because I don't have the greatest hopes for any of these games. I'm not interested in Shadows of the damned or dungeon siege 3. The story part of Catherine seems great, but the tower climbing not so much. Deus Ex does seem to have great promise, but have not heard great things about it.
That's just what I think, you might look at this and say "Hey there are 4 great games comeing out, I'm all set."

This might sound crazy but

I think Dark Souls and Saint's row the third are my two favorite games of E3.
-Dark souls looks a whole lot like Demon's Souls, but a whole lot better. I thought Demon's Souls was a damn masterpiece, so I can't wait to play Dark Souls. Also it's got good boxart, the one I'm talking about is not up on giantbomb yet.  If you need convincing watch this  http://e3.gamespot.com/video/6318186/

-Saint's row the third....this...this right here is what games should be. Saying it's over the top does not even begin to describe it.
It's absurd  ridiculousness is unbelievably refreshing, This grim dark realistic kick we been on for a while can go fuck it's self.
The melee alone in this game is the best I've ever seen. Watch this video http://e3.gamespot.com/video/6318145/I was sold at the 1:24 mark exactly.

Anyone really hate summer?

I hate summer more than anything. Summer came out of no where this year, it was 40 one day and 90 the next.
On a more game related note, i hate summer because I'm to paranoid about my PS3 overheating. In the fall in winter I play for 10 hours straight and it doesn't even get warm. In the summer you can fry an egg on it in 5 seconds, I can't enjoy playing anything if I'm worried about the damn thing overheating and breaking. I'm convinced that the only people that actually like summer are, kids because no school and people that have central air and never leave the house. I do have a window air conditioner, but it's so fucking loud you can't do anything while it's running anyway. Another thing atleast where I live everyday from the hours of noon to 8 PM someone is mowing their lawn, with the noisiest lawn mower I've ever heard.
So do you hate summer as much as I do?

Trip is what videogame women should be.

In the light of people going crazy over how oversexualized the women of Mortal Kombat, and to a lesser extent Dragon age 2 are. I thought what is a better example of women in video games, most people will say Alyx Vance from Half-life or Jade from beyond good and evil. I personally hate them both. Personally I would say Trip from enslaved, or Elika from Prince of Persia 2008. They are both very hot without gigantic breasts or outfits that require Outworld magic to say together.  Looks aside those two characters have some of the best personalities of any video game characters ever. i could listen to The Prince and Elika or Monkey and Trip talk for hours, and did.
And that's pretty much all I have to say on the matter.

I'm really impressed by DW7.

I own every Koei warriors game there is, except the Troy one. After 10 hours with DW7 I think this is my favorite. It looks graphically fantastic, seeing Xu Zhu's massive gut rendered with such detail is actually pretty haunting. The cutscenes are easily the best in the series. For the first time ever I feel DW has a solid story with narrative. I'm also impressed by how the cutscenes go into gameplay without loading or even fading in and out. Rendu is dead thank you Koei and thank you god. The gloves are my favorite new weapon in the game, they sorta remind me of godhand in their ridiculousness. So after like 30 koei warriors games I'm still happy to support Koei.

Yakuza 4 has one of the best videogame stories ever.

I just beat it and I'll have to say the story was fantastic.
It has so many twists and turns. Just when you think you figured it out, that guy dies or changes sides.

Finding the truth about what happened 25 years ago is mindblowning. There were points in the game where I actually had to sit back and contemplate  what just happened.  I very rarely get the "Oh dude that really just happened" feeling form a game, but this one had that feeling in spades. Haveing beaten all four games now, I'd have to say the Yakuza series has one of the best and most solid stories of any videogame series. If you like really deep crime stories and don't mind reading subtitles, you should give these games a try. Also after playing the game for 40 hours and beating it my completion percent is only 32, so it's a lengthy game.

A complete collection!

The biggest collection of Mafia games, in which you don't actually commit any crimes.

No Caption Provided

Well besides Kenzen and Of The End, but those don't exist in America and are not numbered.
I just bought Yakuza 4 at K-mart today. They have a sale. if you buy Yakuza 4 you get Yakuza 3 for free.
What should i do with my 2nd copy of Yakuza 3?

C.C. Lemon survives the Zombie Apocalypse

I looked on my Japanese PSN account to see if maybe they already had the Mortal Kombat demo, but I was greeted with something much more ridiculous.
Theres a demo up for Yakuza Of The End ((Yakuza 5)). It's the final Yakuza game in the Kazuma Kyuri/ Tojo clan arc of games. I've been waiting to play this game for about a year now, because it's a Zombie Apocalypse game. Sega Japan has actually gone on record in say "This is NOT a side story. Were sending the Tojo Clan story arc off with a bang."

Anyways it plays basically just like dead space. It's a third person shooter, you can shoot and walk at the same time all that jazz.
The amazing part about the game is that it's in the Yakuza universe.  There is host clubs, Club Segas, minigames, beating dudes up, leveling up, and side quests.
Just in this game instead of stomping on a dudes face for a heat action, you throw several frag grenade into a crowd of zombies and shoot them in mid air. Here's what it comes down to. Your going to need the strength of 70 lemons to fight the undead hordes. So stop by your local shop, pick up a copy of TVBROS magazine and a nice C.C. Lemon.
