Buying an Atari Jaguar on its launch day. Paid extra to make sure I had it ASAP. Horrible failure of a system, though Tempest 2000 was a decent game. I also ended up buying its cd attachment for it as well, but that was out of morbid curiousity. And I got it very cheap.
Sure, grabbed the Witcher 2 at midnight on Monday. Fantastic value for $50, the regular version comes with soundtrack, map (paper, not cloth), envelope with a letter, a coin, and a hint book that covers the whole game.
