Why does it seem like every week there's some huge "game journos" controversy? Constantly see dudes sniping and taking shots at each other on Twitter or just being condescending.
People seem to gloss over it, because they're either talking about the game being completely average or it having a really great story. The music is pretty damn good though, especially since I just expected generic metal music or some dumb shit.
LOL at all the haters on the site layout. It looks amazing. Then again people were set on hating this thing from the get go so I'm not surprised. Being able to resize your browser and have the site dynamically resize accordingly is pretty damn cool. The mobile version is great as well.
@SomeJerk: The Microsoft funding is incredibly gross, and completely unethical for a group of people claiming to revolutionize journalism.
Oh god are people still going on about this? The documentary has been great. That's where the money went. Hell any other site would've done the same thing. It was cool to see what goes into making a gaming website.

Can someone explain the Gies hate to me? I'm curious to know what it is about him people seem to active dislike.
It's because he hates the games that people like. Simple as that. He's highly critical and has a high standard. His mission is to make sure you aren't wasting time with shitty games.
So many Arthur haters. Dude's one of the best reviewers out there.

I just hope there's not a Polygon podcast which interferes with the recording of Rebel.FM.
There already is one. The Besties. He's not on it so Rebel FM has been fine (well not including all the breaks they take normally). Not sure if they'll launch a more standard podcast though.
I've really been enjoying it solo. The stages(both story and bonus) are just the right size for my commute, and the fact that the characters' abilities are upgradeable adds a little bit of incentive to replay to your heart's content. When you beat stages in Story Mode, you unlock the enemies and other NPCs for use in Free Play, and there are various bonus missions that unlock as you go along for extra loot.
I paid the full $40 for it, and I can say that it was totally worth it.
As for the slowdown, I don't notice it too much(some people do, some people don't). If you're reeeally on the fence about it, Jeff mentioned it in today's ILM, so maybe he'll do a Quick Look of it. He usually covers technical issues in fighting games pretty well.
Yeah I'm looking forward to the Quick Look. I've checked some video reviews on youtube and it looks cool and seems pretty fun. The slowdown thing is unfortunate, but I've probably dealt with worse. Good to hear that solo play has some legs though.
Max Payne 3 is on my short list for GOTY. Wasn't expecting anything from it, and it floored me. That airport sequence with that song in the background. Man
Seriously. I picked it up on a whim and it blew me away.
