These games are the greatest of all time (imo)

Regardless of time of release, technology available now or time of release, these works of art represent video games at its greatest!

WORK IN PROGRESS

List items

  • This game was my main motivator to create a "Greatest of all time", it is indescribably fun, comical, serious and over-the-top all at the same time. If you are a hardcore or just enjoy the range of craziness that video games provide, this is a game that you can't miss or skip...

  • Uncharted 2 will be always be memorable to me, it provided my first experience of when a video game has the direction, pacing and overall story curve that you get from most Hollywood motion pictures and still has a easily approachable gameplay experience. Not only is the story and pacing well done, but the presentation and graphics are still impressive to today's games.

  • If there is ever one game in my life that I could I always return to and never get tired of playing, Tetris Attack would be that game! I played this for hundreds of during my childhood and will from time to time take a time machine back into the magical SNES-Era of gaming and play some fast paced puzzle matching combat!

  • Probably one of greatest attempts at having meaningful, fleshed-out characters in a video game. Combined with some of the best stealth gameplay in any video game while leaving room to approach any scenario differently and always keeping you on your toes.

  • I've never liked turn based strategy games, as they have always felt a bit silly from a presentation perspective and pacing wasn't enough to keep me interested. Then came XCOM: Enemy Unknown a reboot for a series known to be brutal and unforgiving with it's high learning curve, fans of the series were worried that Fireaxis would get rid of the some of the games uniqueness by "dumbing down" the gameplay and make a game that alienated the fanbase while trying to appeal to audience that didn't exist.

That didn't happen but also it was approachable enough for me to get the XCOM fever.
