I have been gaming on-and-off since I got a Game Boy Pocket in 1997; I have since acquired a Genesis, N64, Playstation, Gamecube, PS2, original Xbox, and most recently an Xbox 360 in July 2008. I read a lot of content about video games but don't play the big titles until they fall in price (the Cheap Ass Gamer way) and am a little skittish about voicechatting in multiplayer so I suppose I could be called a semi-casual gamer.

My favorite genres are sports, puzzle, action and side-scrolling shooters - fighting games are fine even though I'm not particularly good. I prefer music games that use original compositions rather than relying on a catalog of licensed songs but those can be fun as well.
