  • Get lost in the World of Warcraft.: The MMO is a strange beast, and I'm not going to lie; I despise the notion of paying to play games that you already own, and I've boycotted every game that has ever followed this structure. Despite the fact that I've always been a big fan of Blizzard's games, I naturally avoided World of Warcraft for years based on this principal alone. In December 2007 I had finally been convinced ...

  • Slightly brain-dead.: When you break Left 4 Dead down to its core components it's a relatively basic game; you grab some items, run through a level shooting countless common infected, fight a few special infected, and eventually seek shelter at the next safe house ad nauseam. Left 4 Dead has a bare bones selection of weapons and items at your disposal, so playing it by yourself gets very old, very quickly. Fortunately ...

  • This soul doesn't burn so brightly anymore.: With the recent fighting game revival taking place during 2008 it's no surprise that Namco saw it fit to re-release the game that sent the Soul series to super stardom on a modern day console. Despite the odd numerical scheme, Soulcalibur is actually the second game in the series. Following Soul Blade for the PlayStation 1, and complete with name change and a significant roster update, Soulcalibur took the the ...

  • Castlevania: The Impossible X Chronicles.: Games as challenging as Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles are a rarity these days. In the current state of gaming we are generally treated to a lot of things we take for granted such as recharging health, plenty of checkpoints, and often the ability to save our progress whenever we need. The Dracula X Chronicles does not share any of these ideologies and instead takes us back to the days ...

  • Tour of duty number five.: It would be hard to immediately identify something as a World War II game with the absence of Nazis. In fact, the absence of Nazis is what potentially could have led Treyarch's latest iteration of the Call of Duty franchise from feeling like just another World War II game.Call of Duty: World at War consists of two main components: an American campaign that retells the invasion of Okinawa, and yep, ...

  • A leap of faith worth taking.: Mirror's Edge is an incredibly unique experience that is extremely important in the age of an extremely over-saturate game market. We're constantly being flooded by the same types of games and an endless stream of sequels that rarely do anything new. That's not to say any of these games are bad, but they drown out innovation by constantly playing it safe - as well as wearing out their welcome. Games ...

  • A great game that ultimately feels like a missed opportunity.: PlayStation 3 or not, we've all been following Killzone 2 with eager eyes for a long, long time. Would Killzone 2 finally be that killer first person shooter that Sony so desired? Would it be that game that finally drew the Xbox shooter crowd over to the PlayStation? The answer is more complex than a simple yes or no, but let it be known that Killzone 2 is a great ...

  • The Triple Bonus Pack is only worth getting if you want the memory lamp.  The Killer Machine ring isn't really essential but I suppose it helps in some places.  The additional dream is neat too, but it's only worth it if you really liked the dreams.  Basically, if you want to be able to watch any cut scene from the game at any given time then it's worth the $2.50, ...

  • meh... I tried playing Guild Wars and I found it pretty boring tbh.  Anyone who thinks this is going to give WoW a run for its money is sorely mistaken.  Don't get me wrong... I'm not obsessed with WoW or anything but trying to play Guild Wars after WoW is like playing that CD-I Zelda game instead of a Link to the Past.

I've been interested in the Castlevania series for a long time now, but due to the series' ridiculous backcatalogue of games, I haven't really known where the best place to start is.

I recently found Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles for ridiculously cheap so I decided I might as well start there.  I know this game has the original Rondo of Blood and (an apparently updated w/ new voice acting?) Symphony of the Night.

What I want to know is, should I start with the PSP update of Rondo of Blood, or should I start with Symphony of the Night?  I know the latter is arguably the most popular game in the series so I thought it may be a good place to start.

The only other problem I have is, does anyone know what the specific differences are between Symphony of the Night on XBLA, PSN, and PSP?  As far as I know the XBLA version has altered sound effects, the PSN version is the original PS1 version, and the PSP version in DXC has a new voice cast.

Many thanks to any and all replies that can clear some of this up for me.

So I was playing Team Fortress 2 a while ago, and I happened to noticed that I had been repeatedly killed by the same demoman in the exact same location numerous times.  I then started to go after him and noticed that he kept camping this ledge in a corner planting stickies everywhere.  After numerous failed attempts at killing him as a spy and eventually ending with him getting a domination on me, I ragequit the game by holding the power button down on my laptop and then I went and ate some pizza while I contemplated my own failures in life.

So GiantBomb, when was the last time you ragequit a game?
