Hi there,

just curious if I anyone has experienced something like this before. Via Xbox Messages a 10€ gift code was sent to my account, the message thanks me for being a loyal customer (not those exact words, but along those lines) and promotes the "Critically Acclaimed" sale. The message looks legit and all. I'm just confused, because... well... it's generous, and anything generous by a big company like Microsoft confuses me.

I didn't intend to buy JC4 originally, but after watching a fun preview stream and double-checking via the IGN 4K videos on YT that it looked the part on the One X I decided to pre-order the game anyway (the Gold version, and yes, I know that was foolish). This game looks like garbage most of the time. Low quality textures and frequent pop-in all over the place, lighting problems around the clock (I found this on reddit and this is what it looks like in a dark environment on my LG OLED TV as well, which makes me think that the HDR implementation must just be completely broken somehow), jagged edges all over the place. This is definitely worse than any other AAA game I have played on the One X so far. The one positive thing is that the explosions look really nice and the FPS are solid, but... at what cost? And why did the videos that were released before launch look infinitely better than the actual game? Anyone here as confused and dumbstruck by all this as I am? I just want to blow some shit up, but it's really no fun like this. I definitely regret this purchase so far. Here's hoping that this can somehow be fixed.

So do I understand this correctly? If I own the first season of Hitman and want to redeem my Legacy Pack, I have to first redownload the complete first game, then redeem the Legacy Pack from there so that I can then download the Legacy Pack DLC for the second game and then I'm good to go (unless I still want to purchase the GOTY Legacy Upgrade for 10 €)? Wow, that's a lot of free space on my Xbox that I currently don't have. Am I right in assuming that after having done all of the above, I can then at least delete the first Hitman again (because I only needed it to redeem the Legacy Pack in the first place)?

Because some of you already seem to have finished the game (I'm still in chapter 2, so that is going to take a while) you might be able to answer this question: Do failed chance encounters respawn at some time? They might be one of my favourite parts of the game (how much dialogue - and even good dialogue - is sometimes included in these is amazing to me, and then I think about the "100 hours a week-thing"), but I have run into a few where the controls or other weird things made me fail. I was supposed to escort a man to Strawberry and on the way another rider forced my horse to the left, into the man, who immediately fled, another time my Dead Eye "overreacted" and shot the good guy I was supposed to protect. And I would really like to experience these encounters as they were supposed to be experienced.

Or will I just have to live with the fact that fucked up things happen in this world sometimes and that some encounters will not go the way I'd like them to?

So I did the Valentine robbery and got the revolver, but was then immediately shot dead. However, I didn't have a bounty afterwards. I still have the revolver, though. And the mission to rob the doctor also still shows up in my tasks list, although when I approach the locked door, there is no prompt anymore. As impressive as this game is, sometimes I don't quite follow its logic. Is the logic "You're getting shot, so you're theoterically dead, so there is no bounty, but you still get to keep the rewards" (in this case the revolver)? Oh well...

Hi there,

it's offical: I love HDR, but finding the best HDR settings for any given game is definitely not my favorite activity I could think of. Enter Assassins Creed Odyssey. I'm playing the game on the Xbox One X and although it looks stunning in parts, I feel like I haven't found the optimal HDR settings yet. Any general advice on how to do that (I'm honestly a bit overwhelmed by the Maximum Luminance and Paper White sliders)? Or is there maybe anyone here with an LG OLED 55B6 and a very specific settings recommendation for that TV? Would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance and have a nice weekend, everyone.

Hi there,

unusual question maybe, but I couldn't find any info about this online. I need new glasses and my optician told me about "blue control" glasses that are recommended for people spending a lot of time in front of screens, which absolutely is true for me. They are supposed to filter the blue light of PC/smartphone etc. screens to minimize eye strain and glare, which seems like a useful thing. One thing I'm worried about though is that it could negatively impact the perception of colours, especially concerning HDR, which I just bought an expensive OLED TV set for and am absolutely in love with. So my question to those of you who wear glasses and have experience with what I'm talking about: Are these "blue control" glasses really useful or will I just be frustrated with them because they'll negatively impact my time spent with gaming?

@syndrom: It normally also wouldn't bother me that much, but I was booted back to the title screen five times in the span of four hours and lost a lot of progress due to that. Very unceremoniously. The game just shoves a box in your face saying "You have been signed out", and that's that. I have no problem whatsoever playing longer online sessions in Monster Hunter World on PS4 Pro and on Xbox One X I played both beta versions of MGS: Survive a lot and was never signed out during that time, so I find it hard to believe that it suddenly has to do with my internet connection. Might be the game or server issues? It sucks. I like the game a lot!

Hi there,

I'm really enjoying the first few hours of Metal Gear: Survive, and not in a "huh, this is better than I thought", but in a "hey, this is legitimately fun"-way. But in the first few hours (I've played up to chapter 5, which is not really that far) I've already experienced five instances of the game shoving a big box containing the words "You have been signed out. Returning to title menu" in my face, which was accompanied by me losing all progress since the last autosave, which sometimes was more than just 30 minutes ago. This leads to me now returning to base camp after every single side mission, as minor as it may be, just to avoid losing hours of progress.

I hope it's not my internet connection and I would be kind of surprised if it was, because I played both beta versions of the game on One X for several hours, and shouldn't it have happened then as well if my internet connection was the culprit? Which is why I'm turning to you to ask if anyone has experienced the same problems, so that I can get a better idea of where the problem lies: within the game and server issues or within my internet connection.

It would be a shame if this continued being a problem, because I would probably have to stop playing a game that I immensely enjoy apart from this.

Hi there,

I'm not terribly invested in the Persona universe. I only played a bit of Persona 4 and that's it, but I like the art style of Persona 5 and would like to play it. Right now it's on sale for 34,99 € here in Europe, and for 49,99 € they're also offering the Ultimate Edition at a discount. As far as I understand the things that come with the Ultimate Edition are costumes and personas from older games as well as a new difficulty, a healing item set, a skill card set and (strange thing to unlock for money) the japanese voices. If it was extra missions or something like that I would go for the Ultimate Edition, but this seems more like fan service.

So, to those of you who have played it: Am I missing out on anything important/worthwhile if I just grab the Standard Edition?
