I go vist Giantbomb.com

"I think this obviously leads to another battleground for an Ice-T/Soulja Boy showdown. Perhaps they could go at it in this week's Xbox Live Arcade release, Duke Nukem 3D? It's a first-person shooter (which is right up LORD 187X's alley) and its new time-rewinding feature means that Soulja Boy can continue talking about how he don't never run out of that going back in time potion. The winner of that could go on to whoop Michael Phelps' ass at Call of Duty: World at War."  - Jeff Gerstmann (http://www.giantbomb.com/news/ice-t-has-played-too-human/273/)

Simply Marvelous.

Playing through spore was almost disapointing, I was one of the few that pre-order spore early on and suffered through out the whole process of realease dates being pushed back and almost canceled, i taped my pre-order coupon to my monitor, who knew it was going to take this long!

But to the game playing through the cell was as I hoped and liked it to be very basic and you can tell whats what and how the game works then the creature phase came up, also urges of un fulliled goals and dreams. I imagined a fully bodied eco system of species interacting and communicating some being naturaly aggresive while ithers being timid and shy but it was none of that it was more "Ok im going over here to eat them then over here to socilize with them alright another pack memeber im going to keep doing this." This was one of the biggest down sides for me was the creature phase, tribe meh its a striped down RTS then i got punched in the stomach in Civilization Spore yelled at me saying "Look I still have some give!" and I fell in love creating complex structures and vehicles unleashing airbore and naval might along with some good old fashioned rolling thunder to conquer the world, seing 5 squadrons of aircraft you made duke it out with another airforce over a city was one of the most satisfying "Spore moments I had."

Alright this planet is mine now what..... Galxaxy, sweet ok so i have to get to..... the.... middle..... Oh My. Now i believe ive unleashed all hell upon myself in the space phase i have gone wayyyyyy over my head and I think ill have to stop now its horrible, how can I get there. Maybe I wont.... Oh man.

Bottom line is for me Spore was leaving me feeling not so great by the middle of the gtame but then they sucker punched me to say oh look you will like this! and then went overboard and killed my Civiliaztion experience. New Idea, create a Spore mod to create a whole game focusing around civilization phase and small bit of creature and cell to evolve your creature, i should get on that now.

Playing the other night was really re-freshing having not played a proper MMO since Kingdom Hearts, if that counts. The game was really freindly for everyone, talking to hardcore mmo fans or the casual gamer who looked at the box and said "Oh this looks cool, i was here to buy pens but whatever, i have a credit card coolio."

The group quest mechanic is clever and also very rewarding for people who care enough about the game to participate but the thing thats killing me is that it was difficult to find anyone on Friday night and if an MMO is empty on a Friday something has gone horribly awry the new servers may be to blame and ill have to see whats the deal on sunday but from what ive played im enjoying it and i hope to play more in the future thumbs upski.

I really dont blog or anything like that, it seems that its likely no one will probably read this anyway but I felt like i needed to write this as soon as I had acces to a computer. I was watching some televison and whada ya know a TV advert for NHL 2K9, I dare you to try and find a link for it but it went a little like this. Average guy geting a tattoo, tattoo artist asks "Whats this?" and he simply reesponds, "Ohhhh these are the controls for my hockey game so i can look at them, so the other guy responds "Just get NHL 2K9 wii"...............

Controlers aren't hard, I dont know if you can comprehend this but all there is is 4 buttons 2 analogs 2 triggers and 2 Bumpers, maybe and a D-Pad for the average controller. Thats not hard, really it isnt try it sometime, if you have problems pushing "A" when you want to pass a puck or switch player then maybe this WII version is for you or you could try and get some co-ordination its your call.

Bottom line how far are game companies like EA and 2K (possibly just EA soon) going to go to dumb these games down and get off on the excuse being "Oh it will be much more fun to play like a real hockey player!" It just sickens me how far these things are dumbed down, sure it may be difficult for some users to grasp the concept of all those buttons but COME ON, remeber when you were little and really really horrible at something but a gear clicked in your mind and you then decided to fall back on the knowledge your parrents gave you being "When life give you lemons try harder" (TM SImon Maxwell) umm something like that, but you got better you advanced and moved on, from learning the basic combo's in the street fighter arcades to hardcore roundhouse flying spining things! Or anything else that seemed very difficult to do in your childhood.

Maybe the sports player that can drive a golfball 300 yards but has too look down or cant hit "A" when told maybe should try harder and LEARN, Learning is great advancing in the knowlede department can only help not harm, and maybe then you can say no to letting game corporations make dumb games. Dont mind me though if you want go ahead strap on your stupid and swing the Wii remote arround to throw a ball or shoot a puck becasue those 4 buttons will never make any sense.
