Companies whose games you should simply pre-order without regard to the hype or the nay-sayers.

This is a list of companies that are completely reliable. That is to say that every single game they have put out (mostly) has been awesome. Therefore, when a game of theirs is coming out, don't wait for the review, just go out and buy it. Further explanation below.

List items

  • With literally the greatest track record of any company, Blizzard deals in perfection. Starting with Orcs vs Humans and moving to Blackthorne all the way to World of Warcraft and Starcraft 2, you do not need to worry about this company making a bad game. They will never do that.

  • Putting out the greatest online FPS franchises has not stopped this company from focusing on excellent storyline in its flagship franchise, Half-Life. The people who came up with modern warfare-style FPS gameplay and made it into a fun online game have not missed on a single game so far (unless you live in Australia).

  • This company is known best for its fantastic Elder Scrolls series, including one of the best RPGs of all time, Daggerfall. Recently, it has taken on the mantle of Interplay's post-apocalyptic series, Fallout 3 and I have to say that there couldn't have been a better company to do it. Buy their games, they are awesome.

  • While the company has had a few minor hiccups (Red Dead Revolver, Oni) they were all in the beginning of their career. Every game since 2000 has been well received and none more so than their open-world Grand Theft Auto series. New games coming out that look awesome are L.A. Noire and Agent.

  • While FarCry may not have had the best storyline, it truly defined what we would come to expect out of this company: cutting-edge graphics, choice in how to approach situations and giant, explorable maps. Its new series, Crysis, is absolutely cutting-edge and will probably take the graphics throne once again.

  • Another company with stellar success in FPS games, Bungie has not failed to disappoint us in any of its games.

  • Total War. All of them are awesome and they keep getting better. While I have yet to play Napoleon Total War, this is simply because I have not stopped playing Empire Total War since it came out. Almost 2 years later and this game still keeps me totally hooked.

  • Making the best RPG's in the world takes a lot of effort, and these people are not lazy at all. They love their RPGs as much as everyone else does and it shows in how well their games are made. With their string of new IPs, they are beginning to prove that they can do great things without the D&D license.

Post ME3, this shit is getting re-evaluated.
