The seal is pretty significant in Nintendo's history as a publisher. The crash of '83 was largely attributed to oversaturation of the market from crappy unlicensed games, resulting in a drop in buyer confidence. The seal was one part of Nintendo's plan to build that confidence in videogame consumers again.

Granted, the page doesn't say any of this so it could do with an update at the least.

Gen 1, but not because the pokemon designs were better (they weren't)

Mainly because the whole "Catch 'em All" tagline was actually a reasonable goal. There was only one Pokemon you needed to get from an event, only two games you needed to keep track of. If you needed a break from training your team of superstars, you had something else to do instead. Even though later generations try to have rewards for completing the "national dex", it never really felt like the same goal since I knew there were still more dudes I had to catch.

Gen 2 I still really liked, just never caught 'em all. Gen 3 took the series in a new direction, but I was okay with it. Gen 4 I got into competitively for a while, but otherwise was kind of meh. Then for Gen 5... I really thought I'd enjoy it so I bought Black on day one, but idk. Just didn't really work for me and I'm not sure why.

Which episode did it end up being? I'm curious now myself

Audiosurf, Bit Trip Runner, Cave Story +, Fallout Collection (Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics), Gish, Half Life, Lone Survivor, Machinarium, Penumbra Pack (Penumbra Overture, Penumbra Black Plague, Penumbra Requiem), the Portal 2 Update DLC thing, Sequence, Serious Sam: The Random Encounter, Stacking, Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery EP, Terraria, World of Goo. Plus some other stuff that came in the various indie bundles.

Plus a bunch of copies of Bastion and The Binding of Isaac that I ended up gifting other people.

No clue how much it all was and I'm not sure if I really want to find out?

@Nightriff: heh most of the time they will say they can't understand it, but they'll send you back stuff anyway as long as you give them a gift of some sort.

You don't have to do exactly what Cubical says, but putting nice words like "good" and "wonderful" and maybe dropping their name may help. Try and make it a four-line letter if you can.

Here's a guide someone wrote, not sure how valid some stuff they're saying is but it gives you a good idea.

Send some mail to your villagers with a few lines of nonsense (I think there might be some detection for nice words in there but I'm not completely sure) and then attach a piece of fruit or a shell. Most letters you get back will be stationary or shirts, but some villagers will send you foreign fruit. Plant some, start an orchard and you'll have an easy way to make good money every 3 days.

I used to play the game a hell of a lot back in 2006... used to frequent animalxing.com. I haven't checked back there in a while, but they had a bunch of useful guides and tips on their site for just about everything.

6 or 7. I don't think 7 is as bad as people make it out to be, and at the same time I don't know if 6 is that much better. Saying that as someone who only really played both of them within the last year.

So basically my vote goes to Chrono Trigger.

Flight Facilities - With You (sweet bit of indie dance; video has some very daft punk/megaman/astroboy vibes)

I also really liked this one. Hemisphere by Paradis, also has an interesting video

There's a bunch of other songs I've really liked so far this year, though a lot are remixes or just don't have interesting video clips to accompany them. :\

I'd say Code Veronica... but granted I only played Zero on easy because I wanted to get through my backlog quickly, and even then the leeches were a real pain. I still haven't finished Code Veronica - pretty sure I'm stuck in an area with a bunch of hunters with low ammo.

Pala by Friendly Fires (same with El Camino by The Black Keys) came out last year I think? Though I only really got around to listening to it in December or something. Good album.

Something by Chairlift was a good album I picked up in January though. Most of the other albums I've bought this year haven't been quite as new.

Unless you just mean stuff that you've only just gotten around to listening this year, in which case Royksopp has been one of my favourite new discoveries. Melody A.M. is a fantastic album from start to finish.
