Late to the post, but what an amazing game. I'm around 43 hours into my first playthru, and I will probably jump right back in when I'm done to see the other 2 paths the game can go in. The art style is amazing, I feel like I'm always looking at a painting. Can't say enough good about this game. It's a real shame it got no coverage on the site.

Yeah, it's a shit show for sure, I've started hauling my laptop to work, downloading any digital games I buy in the office, and then moving them over to my gaming PC when I get home to avoid any overages. Can't really get away with that on the console side, but luckily I'm primarily a PC gamer, so it definitely takes a huge chunk out of monthly usage.

I put in around 25 hours at launch, and didn't touch it with the first two big updates, but the stuff for Atlas Rising seemed pretty substantial, so I jumped back in. This past weekend, I put in close to 20 hours, and I've been going home every day this week and playing 1-2 hours before dinner. They've really put in the work, and it shows. The storyline quests, the base building, vehicle options, etc, there's just a ton of stuff that would have been cool at launch, but I'm glad they hunkered down and got it in over time.

I've always been a big fan of a comeback story, and HG have definitely made a comeback in this case. The 1.3 update thread on Neogaf has been sitting on the front page consistently since Friday and it's up over 80 pages of posts now. The game has gone from less than 1k people playing regularly on Steam to regularly hitting 15k, and it was #2 on their Best Seller list over the weekend behind PUBG. I have a bunch of friends that have jumped back in and gotten hooked.

Haters will hate and dwell on the past, and that's fine, but if you can get past that, there's a fine game to be played now that offers a ton of options and a good guided storyline to boot. I remember the game at launch being equated to a puddle, wide but shallow. It's not longer a puddle, there's plenty enough depth to dive in now.

This game remains pretty popular on Steam, with 15-20k people playing it regularly, and yet the GB staff has never even done a segment on it on a variety show like UPF or anything to that effect. Seems like a game Vinny and Brad might dig once they got into it. Do we think they might finally check it out if/when it comes out of early access on PC?

I'm like 3 hours into MGSV and Mad Max at this point. To my surprise, I'm really pulled into MGSV, since I've never been able to get into an MGS game in the past. Both games are a complete blast though, so it's always hard to choose which one I'm going to play when I sit down. At some point I need to stick with one til the end, and then go to the other one, haven't decided which game that will be though.

So this week both MGSV and Mad Max drop, pretty crazy. A lot of people have relegated Mad Max to the bargain bin already because of MGSV, but for me at least, MGS holds no sway. Meanwhile, I'm an old school Mad Max fan, and a fan of games that offer a quality post-apocalyptic experience in general, so this is the game I'm jumping into this week. Can't wait for the unlock tonight, and plan to stay up for at least 2-3 hours to play once it drops, work tomorrow be damned.

Who else is more excited for Max than Snake? Surely, I can't be the only one.

Introducing this into the modding community of a game that is several years old seems like a bad idea from top to bottom. I have no doubt this is just a trial run for Fallout 4 and ES6, but there are thousands of Skyrim mods, a majority of which use components of other mods to function, so suddenly you're in a situation where a for-sale mod using content from another mod will no doubt result in personal claims, who built what, etc.

Also, Skyrim, and most Bethesda open world games in general, are a precarious tower of code that runs most of the time, but is made much more fragile by the installation of mods and what order they're installed in. When you give away those mods for free, you can wash your hands of potential issues, but the minute you slap a 99 cent sticker on your mod, you are expected to support and to continue support said mod and how it interacts with the Skyrim environment in coordination with any other number of mods in the process.

This is something that, at best, should have been introduced in as future Bethesda game, and I expect this will introduce months of bad press for both Valve and Bethesda, which is already in full force based on Reddit and Gaf posts.

If H1Z1's current state (which they're selling access to) is any indication, I'm thinking Sony made out better on this deal.

I played Daybreak tho, so the naming might be apt.
