@Edin899: I have an Xbox, I play on it every once and a while. I have friends on skype, I talk to them daily WHILE playing games. I get that part completely. Having relationships with friends is great, but what I'm saying is that just telling people to do something won't mean they're going to do it. Telling people to not play the game with their headsets in doesn't mean they're going to. That means they're ruining the game for themselves and they're not getting the full experience out of the game.

Dude....

The people that say ''They do it for the experience''' are the same people that would NOT put on a headset and go into party chat.

So they would not ruin it. And what kinda game is this where 1 party chat ruins the entire game?

A game where you're trying to immerse yourself. Something that the first Demon's Souls did great at.

By that logic a kinect controller should be mandatory. To check that people weren't using skype or having company IRL. Also to check light levels in the room, not being able to start the game unless they are low enough, so you really can immerse yourself.

He doesn't care about video games, he isn't funny, he doesn't have any abilities that would contribute to a show about video games either in front of or behind the camera. Remind me again why anyone would be wasting time and money putting this guy in a show about video games?

I like that some genres have been getting shorter. Games tended to drag on, with little variation years ago. This gives me time to try out more games and a variety of gameplay elements.

Off course multiplayer has to be considered as part of the package. How much fun (quantity and quality) do you get from your purchase? This is ultimately what justifies the price you pay.

#4 and #3 applies, #5 to some extend, but mostly because they are shoving MP into nearly all games released today.

I have never fallen for #1 and #2 and consider them as complete and utter bullshit. It's a change in attitude, not in the games.

@scrumdidlyumption: Well, why do you have a big screen hooked up to your console and not just a 14inch monitor?

@Hailinel: And like I said yesterday, you are just in denial/defence mode. Is this supposed to be your argument?

It would seem like we cannot agree on this matter, as you say. When party chat is a basic function of the system, I would think that the removal of this basic function would require a good reason. I see no good reason here. So don't mess with basic functions.

@Hailinel: And I love how you presume that your argument is relevant when I have already shown why it is a bad argument. They might make their experience to be aimed at being played without speech, but why should they be in charge of it? Can I play with others in the room also?

Yes, we should all have to have a computer besides our console setup, to get basic functionality. Playstation. It only does everything. *PC not included.

@Hailinel: They are removing basic and universal functionality. The onus is clearly on you on this one. Please provide an argument.

The experience they are trying to bring, can be be achieved through opting not to use voice chat.

Holy shit, this thread brings out the stupid. People support this decision and yet supports voice chat in that same game (just go on ventrillo, skype etc). Talk about being inconsistent.

@Hailinel: i have never made it out to be an injustice, its a stupid design choice, like having mario jump by pushing up on the d-pad would have been in super mario brothers. Now, instead of relying on a strawman, how about providing us with an argument? I have been asking for one, for 3-4posts now.
