I love the storytelling in this game. Mass Effect 2's game mechanics weren't really better than most action-rpgs, but no other game told a story so well as Mass Effect 2. The dialogue, voice-acting, animation, and over all art came together to form a living, breathing world like no other. I actually cared about the story, and results of my decisions.

Simply the most immersive game I have ever played. From the random duels in the streets, to the long, deep story-driven missions; this game draws you into the old-west to point where it can get depressing at times. Indeed, that's why it's not no.1 on my list - I couldn't spend more than an hour playing this game because the life that these people lead is so sad.

Although it's a 5-year old game, Blizzard's latest expansion revamped it to the point where it really is a whole new experience. The best thing about this new expansion: new content is aimed not only at high-level players, but new players as well. This means that there is a good amount of players at lower levels to group up with, as well as plenty at the high levels to raid with.

Polished, beautiful, and fun to play. Blizzard didn't really change the game in terms of its basic mechanics, but they did make it more beautiful, and seemingly deeper than the original Starcraft.

Guns, guns, and more guns - I love it. Despite my utter hatred of those dogs that spawn out of nowhere, Borderlands is consistently a fun and addictive FPS-RPG. What to shoot a bad guy with acid-laden bullets? no problem. Or how about using a handgun that electrocutes them? Or even better - use your special abilities to stealth behind your victim and then go in for the kill. This was my go-to game whenever all the other games I played got boring.

Here's a game that is easy to learn, hard to master, and insanely addictive. It should really come with a warning on the box that says: "May put you into a time warp." The first time I played Civ 5, I ended up playing for about 6 hours. And I originally only wanted to play only 1 hour. Yeah, it's fun for sure. But the real challenge I think is to see if you can pull yourself away from your desk to see your loved-ones.

I loved Street Fighter 4. Super Street Fighter 4 is even better. It added more characters, stages, and more costume options - what's not to like? The gameplay is excellent and tight. I could spend a day just trying to master those combos I see on Youtube. And with an Arcade stick, this game is fighting-game heaven.

It's nice to see the Call of Duty franchise kept "fresh" even till now. Black Ops is still fun and exciting after all these years. The game is basically a polished FPS with lots of scripted events and good voice acting (ok, I know, Sam Worthington's shifting accent is annoying, but the rest of the actors do a good job despite that). I think what makes this one stand out and continue the Call of Duty dominance is the crazy storyline (from Castro, to JFK, to Nazis), and how well it's presented to the player. Seriously, if this plot were to be in a movie it would be horrible. But somehow, it works well in this game.

Actual gameplay in Heavy Rain is very simple, and the story itself takes center stage. Control several different characters in a connected storyline to the sordid conlusion(s) of the game. The multiple endings are interesting.
