Beat the game today. Really liked it! Got the "bad" ending, so I need to go through again to do all the umbilical cord stuff. Also, I'm not sure I agree with the whole "higher Insight = higher difficulty" thing. I beat the game with tons of Insight (80-something, maybe? I never spent a single one) and didn't find it that hard at all. One-shotted several bosses and even the most difficult of bosses took no more than a few tries. I'm no Souls master or anything either - beat Dark Souls once but that was it, and I never grinded or anything in Bloodborne.

EDIT: After doing some research, it looks like I was a victim of the memory glitch that makes the AI for the bosses go stupid easy, which explains why I was able to breeze through the game without much trouble. Kinda bummed that I didn't get the "real" Bloodborne experience. Here's hoping From Software gets around to fixing it sooner rather than later.

Every single panel of theirs that I watch I am hand-over-mouth-agape at how awful the Q&A section is. I don't understand how people can be that awkward when they're there voluntarily.

I think it's just nervousness, but yeah, I kind of think that if you know you're someone to get nervous when asking questions, or if you have a question that is bound to involve a touchy subject, that maybe sending an email to the Bombcast or Jeff's Tumblr is a better way to communicate with the staff. I think the better way to handle live Q&As at events like PAX is to have the audience write questions in advance and put them in a hat or something when everyone files in. It avoids the mad rush to the microphones, gives everyone with a question a fair shot a getting their's answered, and also gives the staff a chance to filter out the ones that just aren't really appropriate for a crowd setting.

What a bummer. I don't watch The Daily Show as regularly as I used to, but I don't think anybody can deny the huge impact the show has had during Jon Stewart's run. I'm curious as to what he's going to do next. Another film, perhaps? What are everybody else's thoughts/reactions?

Whaaaat?! I mean, this has tremendous potential to be terrible, but if they pull it off, I'd be thrilled.

These are two of my favorite moments that came to mind upon reading your post. There are a lot more goodies out there, though!

I picked up Guild Wars 2 during the recent sale and just spent the last 30-ish minutes customizing a character, determining his background, his features, all of it. But when I got to the end where I could choose his name, I found that the name I always use in games was taken. Disappointed, I tried my backup name, only for that to be rejected as well. I was so annoyed that I quit the character creation process altogether. For me, being able to use "my" name is a really important part of the experience because it allows me to better connect to my character and the world in which I'll be playing, even though I don't have any interest in role-playing with other players. It looks like Guild Wars 2 allows spaces in names, so I may play around with that and add a last name, but I also don't want NPCs to be calling my character by his full name in every single conversation.

This whole process got me thinking, though - what's in a name? Is choosing a specific name in a game - online or otherwise - important to you? What makes it important? Or do you just hit the "Randomize" button and go from there?

@darth_furder: Cool deal - Friendly Spot might be a bit further than my feet are willing to go after today but if I make it that way I'll say hi!
