It'll be nice to see if Crytek can finally pull off Crysis level visuals like this on a console.

Each quote is a different voice, actually, so it's too early say say that Keith David will be doing everything (and probably very clear that he wont be).  We don't even know if there will be any quotes at all being read in-game.

" So many wonderful hours lost on Civ IV.  I love it sooooo much.  Don't under-estimate the awesomeness that is Civilisation Revolution on the DS - it is a great little game.  If there is no stupid DRM on Civ V, I will be there. "
Isn't the iphone version the exact same as the console version except for the graphics? unless the DS version is too, wouldn't one prefer the iphone one? "
DS version is also completely identical to the console versions in terms of gameplay.  It's literally 1:1 feature parity, which is pretty god damned awesome for a handheld port of a console game.

Of course, the graphics are more than a little rough...

Civilization 4 was seriously one of the greatest PC games ever made and I am so psyched over news about a 5th.

Have to say, this is not the type of action game I expected to see come out of Platinum.

I'm also excited about the live-action cutscenes, that's a returning trend I'm excited about.  It's also not foreign territory for  Mikami, remember Resident Evil had them as well.

Yeah, if they say "We have no clue when this game is coming out" they have a harder time getting people to pre-order.  But when they show the customer a completely false and made-up release date somebody at gamestop pulled out of their ass, people are less reluctant to lay down money ahead of time.

Eh, I guess a couple maybe?  It's being developed by Obsidian.  The lead designer is Josh Sawyer, the same lead designer who worked on Alpha Protocol (design work on that game apparently stopped months ago) and was the lead designer of the OLD "Van Buren" Fallout 3 at Interplay before it got canned.  But he had no involvement with Fallout 1 or 2.  It's been confirmed that it's working on the Fallout 3 engine.

So it's the price of 16 months for lifetime access.  I really enjoyed my time with WoW and felt it was a superb MMO, but even then I stopped playing after a year.  I cannot fathom spending nearly as much time with STO.  So financially, there's almost no way it could possibly be worth it for me.   Do you really, honestly see yourself booting up STO two years from now and playing it?  I guess that's the chief question you have to ask yourself if you're considering the lifetime subscription.

I could also go into some paranoid rants about how lifetime subscriptions discourage regular game updates and post-release support, but it's such unfamiliar territory that it's hard to say one way or the other.

In the end, when it comes down to stuff like lifetime subscriptions, just remember Hellgate London.  And think about the people who got screwed with their lifetime subscriptions to that.  Cryptic hasn't released such a dud yet, but there's no guarantees.

I'm looking forward to seducing men and crushing their souls for a change.  Playing as a female will be a nice change of pace from playing as a guy already in P3 and P4.
