@nolastname: different people have different favotites, but you and your friend should watch the Best of Giant Bomb videos on YouTube. There's like 60 of those, but they're all super-well-done compilations that are like 10 minutes each. Check out a few of those. Glad you're enjoying the site!

Links: xpantherx's "Best of Giant Bomb" and TheBurlapLemur's "Bitesize Bomb"

xpantherx makes his highlights on a relatively concurrent basis with what's being put up on the site. From memory TheBurlapLemur makes his as he works through the Quick Look backlog, slowly catching up to today. I should mention that there is minimal crossover between the two.

A much needed board.

RTJ2 is my album of the year. Blockbuster Night is fucking hype.

Finally got around to listening Ab-Soul's latest, These Days recently. Thoroughly enjoying that as well.

Still, while people often say that technically it's better to start on acoustic, people I trust have always said start with what you'll enjoy playing. If the kind of music you're into is AC/DC or Kiss, you're not going to enjoy practice nearly as much on an acoustic

This is super important but In my opinion it doesn't matter what kind of guitar you start on very much to begin with.

In which case, yes that would be a fantastic guitar to start on. No matter what guitar you decide to get, once gotten take it to someone who will set it up for you, getting the action how you want it and get some good strings on there and such. A music store should be able to help you out with that.

Here's a link to the Caterham crowd funding page. Sad situation but I don't think that this is the solution.

Alien is comfortably my favourite. James Cameron's films have never really stuck with me, as such I managed to enjoy Alien 3 more than Aliens. Perhaps this is generally due to bland narratives? I'm not entirely sure. On top of what I think is an incredible movie, it might be important to note that Alien has had an enormous influence on cinema.

Prometheus had its ups and downs but overall I thought it was pretty good. The panicked operation scene was genuinely brilliant.
