Mario Kart Wii doesn't really send the franchise in any direction 0

     I think it's safe to say that as long as Nintendo is making new systems and hand helds it will be making new Mario Kart games. Whether or not these newer games will change in any noticable way is a whole nother story. As is late its also probably safe to say they won't.
