Top 10 Favourite Games-In no Particular Order

List items

  • Can't let you do that Starfox. Full of classic quotes, fantastic set pieces and amazing boss fights it's one of the best N64 games they got. Why they never made a true sequel to this is beyond me!

  • I had to track this game down on Ebay and it was totally worth it. While the DS versions of the series are equally as good it's Superstar's Saga plot that makes it the strongest of the lot. The concept of the Beanbean Kingdom being a mirror image of the Mushroom Kingdom is one that is great and never outstays it welcome

  • Back in an era where everyone was copying Sonic one game dared to be different. Created by the man behind Contra. This game cast you as Sparkster an Opossum trying to fend off an Invasion in a steampunk world. Oh and he's a knight with a jetpack! From flying sections down dark Victorian esqe cities to fighting your rival Axel Gear in Space this game had it all. Hopefully Rocket Knight the latest in the series will be just as good.

  • Pokemon Silver was my Pokemon game, sure I played Red and Blue first and loved it but Silver was the best in the series. It represented what a sequel should be, looking at the first game and fixing what people did not like. Psychic types are overpowered? Well let's fix that then, people want more duel types? Sure we can do that? Pokemon Breeding? Yep we can throw that in too.

The remake takes that idea and adds only the best additions from the latest games, thus taking a good game and making it better. Though I think the time has come for the sound effects to be updated too...

  • Henshin A Go Go Baby! It's so hard to pick my favourite out of the two Viewtiful Joe games they made. Both were amazing games that gave you movie based powers to take on evil while at the same time not taking itself seriously at all. With the constant breaking of the 4th wall these games had it all gameplay, plot, and humour.

  • Best Comic Based Video Game Ever. Hell it's one of the best games ever too, the combat is at times beautiful while the Stealth sections are amazing you really are the Knight as you take them out one by one. Let's not forget Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill as Batman and The Joker really making the game come alive.

  • A great Roleplaying game without most of the roleplay elements, a plot that puts you into some really great set pieces and a cast of characters so engaging that you wish you could spend more time with them. Mass Effect 2 is what a great game should be, it offers you more to do outside of the main plot and encourages you to talk to people over simply shooting people. When combined with the move save data of the 1st game it becomes even better as you watch the consequences of your actions unfold for all to see.

  • Yep it's time for the cliched addition to the list. FF7 is a good game, sure today it looks like a bunch of blocks running about but its plot is so deep that even today I am finding new stuff out about it long after I defeated Sephiroth at the earth's core. Big swords and big hair this was the first game and the best of the angst ridden JRPG's and the one you should be playing.

  • Sure Soul Calibur 4 is a good game to play but the second one will always be my favourite. While tacked on the character of Link was a joy to play as, while new faces such as Raphael captured my imagination with there new sword styles to go alongside familiar faces such as Taki or Voldo. Playing this with my friends is still one of the best memories I've had growing up and when I revisit the game I'm rarely disappointed.

  • Speaking of playing with my friends. No game has made me value my friends more then Left 4 Dead II. When your with someone on splitscreen or playing with someone on Xbox-Live the thrill of shooting Zombies never gets old. While Left 4 Dead 1 was good the second took everything up to 11 and made it a cinematic experience. None of the campaigns were the same, each wildly different as you struggled to survived against hordes of undead. A fantastic social game and will make you love your friends usefulness and stressed at there ineptitude.
