If XCOM then why not Syndicate?

So in addition to the new XCOM fps re-imagining we are getting an OG style XCOM from Firaxis, which is fucking awesome. Likewise we are getting a new Syndicate fps re-imagining from EA and Starbreeze. My question is why doesn't EA release an OG style Syndicate in similar fashion to the 2K and Firaxis XCOM game? That would be a stroke of genius in my opinion.

I'm hoping they will actually do this, but are just waiting for the right time to announce it :P

My guess is that EA does have something else in the works for Syndicate but are trying to see how the response will be for the new game. Frankly the only reason people are excited about the new...new XCOM game is because it has a very respected RTS developer behind it. Any other developer and the reaction would have been a resounding "Meh".

Even if the response is good for the new Syndicate game, I think they still will go with FPS for the sequel. Another point is who would EA give a RTS Syndicate to?

BioWare, duh!

I wasn't thinking of a sequel, more like a side-project, like the XCOM situation. As for who should develop it... If at all possible Lionhead Studios, or staying under the EA banner Visceral.

Good choice.

@LastNinja: @RobertOrri: Bioware "Random studio name here"? Maybe if the RTS XCOM sells EA will think about it. Visceral are probably working on Dead Space 3, but if they have capacity to develop two games at the same time they would be a good choice.
