I also really respect you for sticking up for the subject, not because it's your favourite team or player, but for the name of hockey itself. It might seem like I'm a little biased in the matter being a Penguins fan, but I definitely would have done the exact same thing here even if I wasn't.

Actually, that's not true. Pittsburgh was 4th in PP opportunities this season after Carolina, Dallas and Tampa Bay:

Edit: Also, here's an article (with a chart!) that shows the Pens actually had MORE back to back games this season then last.  Edmonton and Ottawa both has 5 LESS back to back games. Bettman sure does hate Canada!

There is no conspiracy. People just want to hate Crosby and Pittsburgh because they're on top. It happened to Detroit (still does, really) and it happens to every team/player that does well. Haters gonna hate.

I really hope you guys aren't serious about this conspiracy stuff. You do realize that the reason the Kings score so often on the Power Play is because Vancouver's PK is horrid? And you also realize that the Kings have been in the league longer than the Canucks, right? And why would Bettman want non traditional markets to win the cup when all that does is kill the ratings and revenue for the league?  Conversely, if Bettman wanted the more popular teams to win, how would he "grow the game"?  Also, the reason the odds were changed for the 2005 draft is because of the lockout. It had nothing to do with the Rangers or Crosby. How can you give teams better odds when there wasn't even a season to base it on?  
 
 I know that Vancouver got a goal disallowed that SHOULD have counted but so did the Hurricanes in the Finals in 2006. It happens to every team.
