I kinda feel like most of the games that will be on the GOTY podcasts haven't actually come out yet. Once Sept-Nov are done, then we can talk about games that are must plays. After GOTY is also cool because you can put a list of games you may have missed in 2017 and play them before 2018's heavy hitters come out in early spring, usually at a discount.

I'm super surprised by this. I would've thought for sure that the NES Classic was done and dusted. However, I can't say I don't love the decision. I was on the fence at launch and when it was reviewing well I searched for one and it was already gone and the ebay inflation had set in. But, if I can get my hands on one for the MSRP, that's a no brainer. Same goes with SNES classic. Based on this press release, it also sounds like getting one won't be the monumental task that people have been saying it will be.

I guess ebay scalpers come out worse for wear, but that's the risk of selling certain collectibles. Especially video games, where re-releases are becoming more common.

@wrinklydinosaur: While not naratively, gameplay wise you have reached about halfway. There is well over another 40 hours of game left though. The back half of the game is DENSE. stay strong and you shouldn't burn out.

I see the frustration but also we're probably one or two Nintendo Directs away from getting software integration. I think Nintendo will treat 3DS as a little sibling to Switch and will support it to an end until they iterate on a new design. I'm pretty confident that there will be a great deal of crossover with games coming to both Switch and 3DS. That Pokemon game for Switch will no doubt be the test case that is built off of when they decide to build this in the future.

The My Nintendo stuff is coming around the corner and I will be the solution to get older games on the Switch that everyone wants. But if it's not ready and there isn't a place to talk about it, then there's no point in bringing it up when Nintendo has a lot of other stuff to get through at E3. Besides, integration on such a scale would need time to breath. Reggie said in an interview at E3 that when they think about doing rereleases of games on Switch and 3DS, Nintendo only does so when they can add new features and content. You saw that with the Pokemon rereleases last year that had online play and with the Switch version of Mario Kart 8 that had all the DLC and online play.

We need to wait until Nintendo has their actual online offering together in 2018 before we decide to get angry and sad about 3DS support.

I have a few questions for the UK duders about the general elections. Chiefly, what are the platforms of the different parties that are running? I recognize names like Torrey, Labour, and UKIP, but I'm not sure what those parties stand for. I know UKIP are the Brexiters and I'm sure I don't like them or what they stand for. Also, what do you as voters actually vote on when you go to the ballot? In the US, at least for the Presidential Election, we get to vote for President(duh) and Vice President as one ticket, then we might get to vote for senators and congressional representatives for the state and local level depending on the election cycle as well as getting to vote on some legislative propositions. Thank you in advance to any insight you all may have. I wanted to get the scoop from actually UK citizens so that I can be more informed about what is going on across the pond.

@deerokus: This would be acceptable only if that means we get to see DMX walk on stage at E3 to "X gon' give it ya" and say, "X gon' give it to ya! Available today! Grrrr!".

I really was expecting to get a port of Sun and Moon on Switch out of this thing. The way they opened by immediately talking about Switch had me on my seat and then when it turned out to be a port of Pokken, I was immediately disappointed. I haven't played Pokken so I'm not here to say that it doesn't deserve a port to Switch, but it doesn't move the needle for me as much as a main line Pokemon game would. It was doubling baffling to see the follow up games announced so soon in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon as a 3DS exclusive and then to also see that Pokemon Gold and Silver are both coming to the 3DS eshop. I would think that both of those games would make it to Switch. I really, really love Gold and Silver version and the prospect of that game only being on 3DS is even harder to swallow when you consider that the 3DS is being ramped down as Switch ramps up and people like me who own a Switch want it to be convenient way ot play current and classic Nintendo games.

I just really hope that Nintendo is working on a unified virtual console for the Switch that will let people get 3DS games on the Switch. This seems like the console to do that on and I probably wouldn't be the only one who is frustrated in having to go between or carry around two systems in play my games on. I understand none of this is trivial to implement, but Nintendo is doing well with the Switch and adressing these grievances would go a long way to help make the Switch an even better proposition to customers.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2. It was another great movie. The music makes for some great moments just like the first movie did. The tracks aren't as varied, but my parents were way into it as more of their generations stuff was in it.

I think the comedy and writing is what will keep this franchise above the rest of the marvel heap. There are great jokes and excellent timing throughout. It's a combination of all the little things James Gunn does that sets this series apart from all the other super hero movies. It's not just a great Marvel super hero movie, it's just a great movie, period.

WOW. Now that was an exciting quali. That was a serious battle and carried a lot of meaning for how the WDC and WCC will play out potentially. Mercedes strategy for races banks on them getting pole, and not having it will throw them into a new level of uncertainty. That said, anything could happen at the start and this track in Sochi has a pretty long section to open up before it circles the Olympic complex.

Right now, I'm expecting Vettel to convert the pole. No holding my breath for Kimi to convert from 2nd, I just think Bottas and Hamilton will eat him up on the start, which has been Kimi's boogy man for a while.

But, this does show that Ferrari can take pole and even lock out the top slots. The commentators on NBCSN were saying that weight of the Mercedes and the performance of the power unit in slow corners was an issue for them. If Ferrari can keep this advantage in other tracks that have slow and sharp corners, they would have a leg up in the title fight.
