I never actually tried the demo so cannot really say if that is an accurate representation of the full game of vanquish. I can imagine the demo seeming harder than the real game since you wouldnt be as accustomed to the controls and game mechanics. The full game is challenging, but you get used to the controls and the game's difficulty isn't cheap or anything. It's all about how well you use your abilities.

@Grissefar Ive played both infamous and vaquish and dont think those games compare much. Infamous feels like you are a magnet to all surfaces which gets annoying because you cannot control sometimes which magnets, I mean buildings you land on. In vanquish the rocket boot things control extremely well. And yea you can just sort of sit on cover and pick off a few enemies sometimes in the game. But that usually only works for the weaker ones, and even the weaker ones will try charging your cover and flanking you. A lot of the bigger enemies have attacks that will hit you behind cover as well. So you have to use your rocket boot things a lot to get to new cover.

Welcome to GB. I didn't really care for the Vanquish demo. That boss fight was a little too difficult for my tastes.

I've been playing Vanquish on ps3 and Jesus rocket propelled Christ that game is awesome. I just love zooming around with the rocket boots in that game. The game runs amazingly well too the frame rate never slows down even with all the robotic chaos going on. I think the main character of that game is going to get lung cancer though. I also finally got Megaman 3 on the NES. I've wanted that a long time. I've managed to kill 2 bosses already. Snakeman (or was it serpent man?) and Topman. Feels so good when you beat a boss in that game and steal their powers. FUCK YOU SNAKEMAN AND TOPMAN!!!

Wow that's cool man. Personally I felt like Vanquish had the same problem as inFamous - so much snappy movement that is just there for the sake of movement. I felt like it was more effective to just stay behind and pick enemies off. That is just judging from the demo, of course.

I'm just glad that the people I do bother about on GS have a Giantbomb account so I wont' exactly lose touch. I'm not very comfortable staying on GS with how things are going. :\

About Vanquish, I honestly thought I would enjoy the game until I tried the demo. I'm not sure but it just didn't click with me, which I really felt was kinda disappointing.

Megaman 2 is the superior Megaman game, though :P

I really dug Vanquish but man was that game stressful. It was just a constant state of rocket-skiing for your life, I couldn't play more than a couple checkpoints for session, which meant that ultimately a different game came out and usurped it before I finished, but I really do want to go back.

I'm not a big fan of the slow paced cover based shooters, so Vanquish was perfect for me. Plus the story is so god damned stupid I couldn't help but love the game.
