@kevinski: Here's what worked for me. First of all, the dot is ever so slightly off and your dart will land a tiny bit lower than where it's showing. Secondly, when you pull the trigger to focus, you will always hit the exact same spot. Every single time. This should limit the amount of time that you need to focus in general, so take a few seconds to find the triple twenty at the beginning and the next time, hold the trigger for just a moment and the fire. You'll hit the sweet spot. Take the time to fine tune your triple twenty and then the triple score of the bonus zone and you should get it right away.
@greaserlee: I'm more or less positive it doesn't count to achievements. It wouldn't even help all that much, only on hard would any of the weapons be worthwhile, so as long as you play through hard first normal and easy should be a breeze.
Every time you have to follow Willy but especially towards the end of the game. Add the scenes with York tied to the chair and that's a good half hour or so of wasted time. Then there's the long corridor with young York/Zach.
@sixghost: To say I did. Hell after I beat the game on hard with all the cards there were only two achievements left, and you can't come within two achievements of completion and just stop. Unless of course, you don't make poor decisions with your free time, but that's neither here nor there.
@DarkShaper: Square one every single time. No weapons, no items, no nothing. Thank god I got all of the trading cards on the first run, if I had to hunt down all of those side missions all over again I would have just given up.
I'm equally proud and ashamed to say that as of this morning, I've gotten the full 1000 achievements out of Deadly Premonition. I would just like to say fuck non-stacking achievements, and that no one should ever have to play this game three times in a row. Enjoyable cheesiness gets less and less charming the more times you repeat it.
@mutha3: It's not even the achievements, I just want to be one of the handful of people in the world that would actually bother. It's like a combined badge of shame and honor.
@mutha3: I did, but once I got the last card and the achievement, I started a new game on normal so I didn't get the final item. I'm going for the full 1000, and I'm learning to despise non-stacking achievements with the heat of a thousand suns. Also, I hate myself.
" The flamethrower is, shockingly, much better than the chainsaw. While boring and unsatisfying, it at least lets you attack more than one enemy at a time and can be useful on the wall crawlers. "
Taking more than one enemy at once takes all the fun out of it :P I wanna give each fucker his torture time ;) Good point about the wall crawlers though haha, i'll make sure to have the flamethrower on my back in case a certain game has many... spiders. Oh and, use the reply/quote function from now on plz :) "
The only one being tortured with this chainsaw is the player. Staring at bright purple pixelated blood splatter minutes at a time to clear a level is damn near unbearable.
