Don't go overboard. Eventually; when you can afford something, buy it or donate. Support the danm developers.

Aswell as that, keep in mind that not everything has to be bought new - second hand sales are a legitimate problem for the devs, but at least it's fully legal.

Ok yeah thinking about it - those were actually the very worst examples I could have possibly picked. Say for instance half life or halo. Because they follow the same dude in the suit you can't choose which is better?

How or more importantly why? Do you group the GTA, Final Fantasy and indeed anything with a sequel together while you're at it? How can they not be separate when they are so entirely different?

I disagree. I think ME1's Shepard story was truly genius. Being the first human spectre and acting as the ambassador for his own species going to open a can of whoop ass on Saren.
Man, thinking of it now makes me want to go back

Really it's all opinion, and no opinion is fact. I thought that ME2 was a good game, whereas ME was great.

There's a good discussion I heard on the latest 'Podcast Beyond' for those interested. I think it was Colin Moriarty who said that had not ME2 come out, ME1 would have regarded as one of if not the best game of the generation. I don't know if I fully agree with that but it's not far off the mark I believe

Yeah I was exaggerating with the title, honest I don't really care of what people think of me. Though if I copy/pasted this article to any other gaming site I'm sure the responses would be quite different. Giant Bomb and indeed the community rocks!

Exactly. Even for achievements I'm pretty much done with ME2. Though I want to go back to mass effect some day and find out how different the game can be. When I finished 2 I put it on the shelf along with the likes of Perfect Dark Zero and PGR3 which I have no intention of ever playing again, whereas with ME1, it sits firmly on the 'recently played' stand.

Isn't it nice when people just agree ^_^

" There are plenty of people who have the same opinion.  Why should I hate you based on your justified opinion?  That's just dumb. "

I was pretty sure that everyone preferred ME2 to ME1. And the internet at any given time has a tendency to be dumb :D

I'm not saying Mass Effect 2 was a bad game, by any means. But to put this in perspective I don't even think that it should be in the running for game of the year. And from what I was reading, the consensus is that it is by far the greatest game ever.
