I had no idea they were making a new Myst-style franchise.
EDIT: I really wanted The Witness to be a Myst-style game, and was let down because it had very few puzzles that involved learning the broader game world or story. Most of the puzzles were self-contained and had no meaning in the broader scope. Can't wait to try this, very positive reviews too.
It reads to me like "This game had all the potential to be a 5 star game, but the story was pretty shallow and the in-depth character customization doesn't actually affect the gameplay much, so that sucks, still decent though"
This is what happens when games don't have tutorials.
You don't have to put up with lengthy boring tutorials, which is great, but then people who can't figure out the mechanics just wander aimlessly or die very quickly.
The obvious solution is to give an optional tutorial, but most developers are apparently insane lunatics.
Wow, this is actually pretty tame compared to some of the Japanese "romance" games I've seen on the internet.
If the girls had more personality, such that each one had a backstory and character development and well written dialogue, this game could be a lot more fun. But it looks like most of them are basically just pheromone shooting targets.
@danryckert Cane sugar is one form of sugar, and almost every form of sugar is bad, with only one exception I can think of (it's in Soylent). Corn syrup is just another bad sugar.
