I thought Kingdom Hearts was much better than the sequel, although that may have been mostly due to the initial 'wow' factor that they pulled off a Final Fantasy/Disney crossover.

Man, I loved Hexen. Dumb? Yes. Absolutely.   But it was a time where the overall design of pretty much every popular FPS was running from one key card to the corresponding color locked door. Loved the concept of the hub world being implemented into a FPS (even though it still had all the trappings of those current FPS's), I always felt that it gave the whole game a sort-of subtle Metroid vibe. So no matter how uneven it's actual quality was, I always enjoyed the crap out of it simply on design purposes alone.   That's what I did as a kid.  Applaud games for mixing up their design. ... ...I was a very strange kid. "

Yeah, totally what you said. I've been tempted to pick it up on Steam, but for some reason I change my mind at the last second. I guess I'm just content to let it be a 'game from the past'. SIN is like that too...I'm pretty sure that one is crap, but I had fun back in the day (when I could get it running).

I'd like to check it out. Granted, I'm not expecting anything terribly innovative or earth-shattering. If it's playable and fun, that'll be good enough for me.

A little while back, I read a really interesting article over at Cracked in which they talk about strange theories that make movies more interesting. A couple of examples are: 'James Bond' is a codename, like 007, which explains the different actors and eras; or in 'Ferris Beuller's Day Off', Ferris is just a figment of Cameron's imagination. Anyway, the link is here:

So, my question is whether anybody has an interesting/strange theory about a game. Here's one.

Gears of War is about a guy who goes to one of those Church-run organizations that supposedly 'cures' people of homosexuality. He is hooked up to a machine (like in Assassin's Creed) that projects an aggressively masculine scenario to try to make him 'straight'. The homoerotic subtext which is present in the series is actually the main character resisting the programming of the scenario.

...Okay, I realize it's kind of an 'out there' idea, but it certainly makes the game seem a lot more interesting from a story perspective. Any other ideas?

I've been married for 4 years, and it's fantastic.

It's actually really creepy driving around during that time.. everyone has somebody next to them that looks exactly the same. It's creepy, man. "
I saw that on TV once. My wife is an identical twin, so I joke that I'm taking her there for our anniversary.

Hereford, right? I used to live there...well, in Lyde.

Good day. So, I'm assuming this forum is full of people from all over the world. What I'd like to know is what your hometown has to offer, or if some notable people are from there, etc.

So, I'm from Edmonton, Canada. Generally, it's a pretty low-key city but here are a few cool things/people that have come from here:

Nathan Fillion
Bioware
Leslie Nielsen
(if you're into hockey, or a New Yorker) Mark Messier

So, how about your hometown?

I went crazy during that Steam sale last Christmas and bought GTA 4, Fallout 3, and Mass Effect. My crappy Intel Graphics computer won't even run them. However, once I get my Alienware laptop....mwahaha...

Ghostbusters was a fantastic movie for its time, but it really doesn't hold up...not like Big Trouble in Little China anyway.
