Bad Rep

I'm not being biased for the 360, but I just don't get how people say that if you buy a 360, it will just die on you when the PS3 does the same thing too. A friend of mine has a PS3 and a Wii, and his PS3 has just died a few days ago. The PS3 has the same problem(not the exact, but it does have hardware problems) like the 360. So why do PS3 owners(not all though) say that the 360 is the only one that is death-prone? This is another PS3 that a friend of mine that has become broken. I am definitely not saying that the 360 is not death-prone(that would be stupid on my part), but saying that the PS3 isn't is not too great either.

Liquid: Good point. The 360's failure rate was 33% last time I checked.

They don't have to. Many others have done it for them.  I think  LiquidPrince  summed it up best.

Whichever PR guy released those would be fired before an hour passed.

Every piece of hardware can fail, however in this case, the failure rate of a PS3 is standard, which is I believe less then 3% where as the last time I checked, the 360 had a 14% failure rate.

Hexpane: No, I never said anything about lawsuits(what do lawsuits have to do with my friends? They did not sue Sony). I just said that the PS3 has hardware issues too. You can interpret it however you want, but that is what I meant by this blog.

Hamz: Good point, but it still should be announced. If a console has a problem, the media show still say something about it. That's probably why my friends were shocked about theirs breaking down. One of them went through 2 PS3s(it was under warranty, but still).

BD: Agreed.

BD: Very good point. I think people ignore that though. I agree with it.

Handsome: You can make one on the disk reading error it has."

People ignore that for one of three reasons, 1. they created it so fixing it would cost money and make them look bad (that's the company's problem.)  2. they are uninformed  or 3. they are biased (AKA Fanboys)

As a PC Gamer I think it comes down to this from my observation. You never hear about someone going through a half dozen PS3's in a single year compared to the number of people who go through a half dozen 360's every year.

There is no denying the PS3 on a hardware level has no where near the same level of issues or number of break downs as the 360 has. Its not bias, its simple facts. The PS3 is a more stable system and the 360 is a helluva lot less stable, even the newer ones which are mean't to have reduced the RRoD are still breaking down as frequent as consoles released at launch.

A friend of mine has gone through eight 360 consoles in 2008 and a smaller number during 2007. Never heard of that much trouble with the PS3.

It's not as funny with the PS3 because you can't crack a joke about a red ring of death.

ANY piece of electronic equipment is subject to failure, and there hasn't been a console in history without some rate of faulty hardware.

The 360(especially the launch ones) have much more rampant hardware issues.
It was a....33% failure rate, as I recall.
