However, Steam/PC has its own set of games that you can't get on the Xbone. Like the upcoming Shadowrun Returns or the ton of F2P MMO games. Likely none of that coming to Xbone, though I hear a bit of it is coming to the PS4.

Not seeing the parallels here.

No one is doing it, but they're still thinking of consumers as thieves and parasites.

Man this whole thing on the DRM on Xbone reminds me so much of Bill Gates "Open Letter to Hobbyists" where he called all of the people using his BASIC program on the Altair punch card system a bunch of thieves and parasites. Fast forward to the 21st century & you're basically seeing the same thing in the new Altair Xbone. Here's a link to the article:

Stay true to your roots, Mr. Softy.

I buy a blockbuster game on Steam for $5 or $10, doesn't really make any feasible sense for me to sell it. I rarely buy games new, but when I do, the PC version is usually $10 less than the Console version!! :| From an economic sense, the PC wins every time.

I think people are just hoping that Sony will do the right thing. To take the grievances and use that as counter-features to sell their own system. Sort of makes it a no-brainer to go with a pro-consumer platform. For me, I'm not going to drink the Kool-Aid(c) even if both sides force the issue in their next platforms. I'll just stick to PC gaming & focus on games that aren't so uptight about DRM or high prices. It's not that hard to do without, at least not for me. I plug an Xbox 360 controller into my PC, it feels like an Xbox.

I'm not sure why people make $400 seem like so much. while I'm not rich, we do live in world with $500 phones and $800 tablets and $1,200+ tvs, so how is $400-500 to much for a ps4? Even if we figure next-gen will not be as long as this generation we are still talking 5 years.

I'm still conviced the best way to go will be to get smallest one and replace the harddrive day one yourself. I'm hopefully it will be as easy as it was with ps3.

also I believe the story started with the supposed price in UK, than converted to US. I Bet, one sony says nothing about price tomorrow, and two, they are still figuring final prices themselves based on XBOX and other info.

But we always feel bad when we pay high prices if we don't feel it's fair value. Plus the price drops over time, as it does with all electronics. I think $400 is steep. I only paid $300 for an Xbox 360 about 6 months after its release (Microcenter had a $50 rebate). And all of those RROD errors at the time helped lower the price. I'm done my share of high price paying & I'm tired of it. I'm going to go back being the cheap-o/spend-thrift that I once was & try to squeeze blood out of every nickel & dime.

Are the older Console games being carried over to the PS 4 or being used with digital downloads?

Wow, this is horrible! The only reason I've reduced my game time to watch more TV was to wait to see what the Xbox One was going to offer & now it looks like the PC will be my gaming system of choice now. I wouldn't want some achievement system giving me rewards because I watched Game of Thrones...how is that a reward anyway? Although since GB removed their global achievement tracking system, the whole point of achievements have completely diminished in value for me. :(

Not interested in Xbox One. I'm kind of hoping it flops big time. Ever since they added the DLC feature the whole thing was going downhill in my eyes. Plus the never-have-a-sale-never XBL store that I pay a monthly fee to have things sold to me (for yet more cash). No support for my 360 library was my nail the final nail in the coffin for me.

Never have a sale? I got Dark Souls for $10 last weekend... o.O They've been having a lot more sales lately.

That's because they're abandoning it. If you bought a digital copy of Dark Souls for the 360, well I'm not even sure that will ever work on the Xbox One so you'll have to consume it quick & then dispose of it, rather than play it whenever you feel like it. I just don't want to buy the same old game a second time because Softy says they're not carrying it over. Now if Xbox One simply stated they would make these games work, the whole point of going with Xbox One (with all of the existing problems I don't like) wouldn't bother me...at least I'd have my ROI from the library. But instead I get to be stuck with a dead game system.

Apple DOES have Apple Tv, and it was a dud from the start and still struggles even after various iterations of hardware. So yeah... Apple fucked the idea up as well.

Actually for $95 it's not a bad deal. I don't have to pay Apple to view Netflix, Hulu, or other services...unlike XBL.
