That's why I ask about Stern, I've only heard this from him but he just seems to be an older generation host who can't accept change. It's almost embarrassing his obsession with mocking the interviewees, even if one/several of the guys sounds like cartoon characters. Plus his comments about being unable to make a living from video games - the explosion in recent years of reviewers, sites and even tournaments revolving around video games totally voids his credibility.

And, as I mentioned before, he just sounds like a douche.

This is Howard Stern discussing "gamers", with soundbites and a mass amount of ignorance;

The question is; how right/wrong is he?

Personally, I believe video games are the natural progression of media (now accounting for 60% of the industry) and deserve to be accepted as the next evolution of storytelling, just as literature sprang from spoken stories and a large amount of television and film comes from literature.
Obviously being on a gaming site I expect the majority of you to agree with this, but it makes for an interesting listen all the same. His ridiculous mocking of "gamers" is unjustified, although it has to be said the soundbites he presents seem to have been selected as the most stereotypical "gamer" attributes - not knowing what an income is, or dressing as a character.

Coming from the UK, I've never listened to Stern before (he's an American radio host as far as I know, my knowledge ends at that) but he seems to be a real asshole.

Is he just trolling? What are GB's thoughts on the views of those such as Stern or in the general public/media?
Do you go out and show your geeky side? Or do you hide it away in "your parent's basement"?

EDIT: Put every instance of the word "gamer" in quotemarks to please those who seem to take offence at it's use.

@phrosnite: Doesn't gametrailers have ads before each video? Isn't it easier to youtube them instead? I don't really know, never really used GT particularly, stick to what I know!

Much as I prefer the PS3 over the X360, you chose a poor time to swap..

Which gaming review sites do you guys use for checking out a game before you buy it and why?
Obviously we can assume nearly all of you use GB for QL's and reviews, but do you check anywhere else?

Personally I love the GBQL review style where you can just see the game being played, rather than relying on gameplay converted into text, but other than that I'll watch Zero Punctuation for an extremely critical review (http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation for those who haven't seen it), and possibly check on Metacritic for an overall comparison, though this isn't always very accurate. For games that I am considering getting day one, I'll youtube gameplay or check out as many early reviews as possible to ensure my money is well spent.

On the other hand, any review sites you avoid at all costs due to review style/bias? eg. IGN for their apparent love of COD and hatred of any other FPS.

Funny if only to hear you shout "OH FUCK" as Marston slides down. Sounds like you're totally toasted though.
