Question about Playstaion plus

At some point I'm probably going to sign up, but I'm curious about how the free game thing works.

The one month there were like 3 (or more) free retail games. Can you only play these if your keep your membership? Because it seems too good to be true that you could buy a month of plus and get 3 or more retail games for free.

IGN top 100 Rpgs

I don't really care about the list, except for the fact that Lost Odyssey isn't on their. I don't have a history going back as far as some people: I didn't really start (wasn't old enough) for rpgs til psx era, but I would probably put it in my top 5-10 of all-time and would 100% put it in my top 5 of this gen which seemed to be heavily represented on this list. So basically it's fucked that it's not on there. Did they just not play it over there or what?

Edit: Now that I think about it Fable II was by far my least favorite of the series, and I would say the first was significantly better.

But I actually just posted this for myself really to see what games I should look into getting eventually.

Bold = games I finished, italics = games I own (I also own all the ones I beat): Games beat 20 games owned 32? in hindsight it's kind of hard to pick out the italics.

Gamestop thinks my time and hassle is worth all of $25

I'm not going to get into specifics here, feel free to read my two other posts about the subject.

So, I now have a functioning (for now) PS3, but it's not a BC model which kind of pisses me off. Even with all the hassle I went through I was offered nothing at the store when I had to get my third console in as many weeks. So I sent a very accurate, but still nice (even though I should've been a dick about it) email to gamestop corporate. So what did they do? Well, instead of actually replying back to me and taking at least some responsibility for the lack of quality (testing) of their shitty refurbished models, they had an employee from the store I go to (and the employees are all great it's not their fault they get janky ass shit to sell) call and offer me $25 in store credit.

It's better than nothing I guess, but I probably spent 10+ hours just on game installs and updates alone, and don't get me started on the dozens of gameplay hours I lost to copy-protected saves.

Gamestop refurbished ps3 part II (should my 60g sound like this?)

To see my previous issues read last blog post.

So I'm on my 3rd PS3 refurbished, and it seems like the fan is almost always running on high. I mean it's fucking loud, I thought my 360 was running loud, but that is silent compared to the fans on this SOB.

This would be fine if it wasn't for the fact that it's running that loud on like netflix, watching a movie off of a usb, etc. The BR drive isn't being used at all. I'm used to it when I'm actually playing games or watching discs, but I don't see how it can be running so hot off of an app.

The original console I had rarely had the fan kick in like this even when I was playing a game (demon's souls which had no install) or watching a BR disc for hours.

Should I be worried?

Gamestop refurbished ps3

So I bought one and it got killed by a power surge (I think). It was still under warranty so I got a new one. It broke within a week. Also, they gave me a terrible non-dualshock controller with rubber caps on the analog sticks because one of them was falling apart. Anyone else have this bullshit happen to them.

Also, I've gotten a Oblivion GOTY (360) that had all kinds of water damage to the cover and got no discount. But since it was the "only copy" they had at the time I said fuck it.
