Actually no,dont do this on a slim.
The fan test only work the way described on 40gb console.Trying to do this on 20,60,80,or slims could cause the fans too give out or the ps3 to just die from overheating,
It has something to do with the fans in 40gb being able to handle higher rpm.
It actually says only 40gb consoles in the article so you must not have read it all,or watched the video because i believe it is explained in there as well.
Quote from the bottom of the article,
"Just a warning though, it's only for 40GB models -- doing this on other models will cause nothing to happen."

There are ways to make 20.60.and 80gb console rev the fans but they are not actually fan test and involve turning the console upside down among other things, seems a bit dangerous to me and i would just leave well enough alone.
Use a standard vacuum to remove the dust if there that much.

its fun though and if you sit back and look at it hte potential seems somewhat stagering.

Clubs are a paid service,so yes the clubs that exist now will be removed at least i think that is what sony said,we do need a giantbomb club though,it would be awesome if giantbomb released some clothes or general gear for home,we could all dress alike and flash mob central plaza,or dance like tards...but in a group!

"Yeah we should get together later on to discuss the club thing, but as far as I know clubs will be taken out at the beginning then reintroduced."

so where you the club leader that was needing replaceing?[HA!]

anyway ya,it would be awesome if the giantbomb community could somehow get together with out spamming each others friends lists with requests.

I never thought of trophies as a make or break feature, but there cool, plus there is speculation that trophies could one form of currency in home,as for patching old games, there probably do some of the bigger titles but i doubt well see trophies for older launch era titles, you never know.

Ok this is slightly old but i went through a few pages and didnt find anything on it so here ya go,
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
from
videogamer.com
"VideoGamer.com can exclusively reveal that from January 2009 all newly released PS3 games will be required by Sony to support the console's Trophy system.

Earlier this week VideoGamer.com received a tip from an anonymous source within the UK video game industry that, from January 2009 onwards, all newly released PS3 titles will be required to support the PS3 Trophy system.

Today a Sony Computer Entertainment Europe spokesperson confirmed that this information is accurate, stating: "Yes from Jan 09 all games must have trophies."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So there you go,next month all game new games will have trophys, seems like there will have to be a grace period though for games that where just finishing developement [i.e. trophie patches for a few more],but well just have to wait and see.

Ps3 just had a flash update with 2.5,so hulu, adultswim,GiantBomb all work just fine now.
a tip:
start the video dont hit the fullscreen, click the right joystick and use L2/R2 to zoom it to fullscreen
this will bypass the issues some sites have with the fullscreen button, sites like youtube that use
javascript to open the fullscreen in a new "tab" work fine so this is more for adultswim, hulu so on.
