Games AMAZON Recommends I Play

I'd like to post here games Amazon recommends I play. Partly because it recommends different games all the time. I'll also be able to edit this list and provide either quick blurbs or links to longer reviews.

This is really for games I've never played or games I had a LONG time ago. If Amazon tells me I should play Pokémon Blue, for example, I'm good, don't worry.

As I play games and edit them for opinions, they'll move to the top of the list. Otherwise, they're presented in the order by which Amazon recommends them...

1. Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts

Totally did it! This game is great! (Will play more eventually!)
2. Final Fantasy VIII

One of my friends has this as her favorite Final Fantasy of all time (and therefore, really, her favorite game of all time.) The only other friend I have who plays a lot of Final Fantasy reviles FFVIII, partly because of how it overshadows his favorite in the series, FFIX. I personally can't get into FFIX, so maybe I'll try FFVIII?
3. Final Fantasy XII

...though, to be honest, I'm probably more interested in FFXII. That intro scene really pulled me in when I first tried this game, but I was too lazy to figure out the combat system. I'd really like to try this one again. Also offered the Collector's Edition which is, like, $80.
4. Call of Duty: World at War

The only console Call of Duty I've missed since Call of Duty 2's 360 release. Though Treyarch's work on CoD3 left a bad taste in my mouth, they ended up doing a great job with Black Ops, so I think I'll check this out one day. If nothing else, it'll be a harmless military shooter to add to my collection.
5. Ninja Gaiden II

I actually liked Ninja Gaiden Black until the level design suddenly turned on me. I imagine this game is probably better conceptualized, though if I have to put up with much story from Team Ninja, count me out.
6. The Legend of Dragoon

Not at all interested in this game. Probably not going to pick up any PS1-era games or earlier, as there's little chance of me giving them a fair shake.
7. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

I panned this game when I first played it due to what I felt was "racism." Now, being older and more comfortable with the idea that yes, some gangs really do act this way, and yes, racism is a topic that can be handled in games, I'm interested in playing it again.
8. Dante's Inferno

Just waiting for the right lull where I don't have anything to really play. Then I'll probably snap this one up.
9. Vagrant Story

I remember hearing nice things. Maybe if there's a PSN re-release or something?
10. Rock Band: Country Track Pack

Representative of all the other track packs the site's recommended for me. Turning them all down, as I'm perfectly happy to pick-and-choose on the Rock Band Store.
11. Tekken 6

I've always kind of been more of a Soul Calibur guy, and even beyond that I'm becoming more of a Street Fighter/Marvel vs Capcom/Mortal Kombat kind of guy. But it's not Dead or Alive, so I might check it out.
12. Advance Wars

May have made the mistake of jumping right into Dual Strike. Have I ever mentioned that I'm terrible at any form of tactics?
13. Lips

Because in case Rock Band hadn't already covered every genre known to man enough for you, now you can FOCUS on pop music you don't care about!
14. Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly

This sounds repulsively bad by its name. I never really liked the feel of Spyro.
15. Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3

Sure, I own this game for the SNES, but Mario might actually be pretty fun portably.
16. Lips: Number One Hits

Is this a DLC pack or a sequel? Who cares, at least you'll KNOW all these songs.
17. Fable III

LOTS of critical revulsion for the ending of Fable III. Really curious to find out what happened firsthand!
18. Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen

I don't know ANYTHING about Dragon Quest and which are good or bad, really. Note it's recommending the DS version.
19. Harvest Moon 64

Sorry, but not getting into Harvest Moon with an N64 game.
20. Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection

Probably a great deal, but I can't bring myself to care...
21. Microsoft Points

Never expected to see that on Amazon. Not sure why, though.
22. Advance Wars: Days of Ruin

...meh? Too many buttons for my current portable desires.
23. Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves

Probably easier to get the Sly Collection at this point, right?
24. Pokémon Black/White

Now that my brother and I both have DSes again, I'm interested in picking this up...assuming they don't announce "Pokémon Gray" at E3.
25. The Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection

I'm definitely planning to pick this up if I have a PS3 when it ships.
26. Tales of Vesperia

Never played any of the other Tales games, but I'll probably pick this up eventually.
27. You Don't Know Jack

This game actually looks really cool, and I have a couple of friends I can see myself playing this with this summer.
28. Transformers: War For Cybertron

This game looked cool when it launched, but collective disappointment at Rise of the Fallen seriously dragged down any momentum this game had with me.
29. Mini Ninjas

Was interested in this game, and it's at a lower price point now.
30. Clive Barker's Jericho

I remember general panning of this game, but that usually makes me more curious now than less.
31. Shrek Forever After

...why does my Amazon think I want to play this? Party game...latter-day Shrek...gonna pass on the game.
32. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune

Should I feel bad that I dove right into Among Thieves? I really liked that first game except for the blue people and the train, so if this game is more like the other parts of Uncharted 2, then I'm psyched to play this eventually.
33. Lost Odyssey

I tried to play this, and the combat system was interesting, but the story didn't hook me and I had to return it. Maybe if I bought the game I'd be more personally invested?
34. Professor Layton and the Unwound Future

Nice hit. I really liked Curious Village and didn't get into Diabolical Box simply because I lost my DS Lite for a while. Look forward to eventually returning to the Prof.
35. Forza Motorsport 3

Actually been recommending this for a while, and I'm interested.
36. Band Hero

Probably the most interesting Guitar Hero game I missed. Curious to see how they handle the presentation; also, some of the charts looked all right.
37. Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness

I always yell at GameFreak for making the same Pokémon game over and over again, but then I don't play the other Pokémon games, so that's rather unfair. I plan to check this one out, along with the Pokémon Ranger titles and (maybe?) the Mystery Dungeons. Colosseum was trash, though.
38. Crackdown

This one I see a lot, and I'm still interested in playing it even though it's sort of a prototype for a game that never really happened.
39. Mario Golf: Advance Tour

This sounds tragic. Thanks, but no thanks.
40. Rayman: Raving Rabbids

More interested in the Rabbids Go Home era, but w/e.
41. Star Fox Assault

I never picked this game up because of the running sequences, but I probably didn't give it a fair shake back in the day simply because it isn't Star Fox 64, the best N64 game ever.
42. Too Human

And even though so many mean things have been said, and even though the story is rubbish, and even though that dead-to-respawn time is so ridiculously long...I can't say no.
43. Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue/Red Rescue Team

It actually recommended Red; if I remember correctly, these are actually completely different games as opposed to the standard-series Pokémon games. Still, I've heard only one person say really nice things, and that was GabuEx over at GameSpot (a.k.a. the only reason I still check that site on occasion,) so it's at least one great opinion.
44. PowerGig: Rise of the SixString

How is it possibly recommending this to anyone? And how does it have a 3-star rating?
45. Halo Wars

Game always looked kinda cool, but I'm bad at RTSes and a controller will only make that worse. Also, Halo is not really my favorite franchise out there, though I like it well enough.
46. Dissidia: Final Fantasy

You're going to notice a pattern where I dismiss any and all PSP games as I have a really terribly broken PSP and don't intend to buy another. Eventually, I may delete the PSP games off the list. Also, I never told Amazon I owned a PSP, just that I liked a handful of PSP games.
47. Guitar Hero: Van Halen

This game looks like trash, but it has Dope Nose on it, so I'll probably buy it eventually.
48. Extreme-G

I will never ever play this game ever. I very nearly guarantee it.
49. Pac-Man 2: The New Adventures

OH GODS WHY IS THIS A GAME?!?
50. Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings

Maybe after I play FFXII? And hopefully care?
51. Crash: Mind Over Mutant

This looks like complete trash.
52. Metroid Prime Pinball

Probably never gonna pick it up, but I did like Pokémon Pinball a lot back in the day.
53. Major League Baseball Featuring Ken Griffey Jr

This is "Ken Griffey Jr. Major League Baseball" according to Amazon. I'm still not playing an N64 baseball game.
54. Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker

A fellow GB user recommended this game to me too after I stated how little I trust Kojima after MGS: PO and MGS4...too bad it's on the PSP.
55. Kirby's Epic Yarn

I rented this game and played for a couple of hours. I enjoyed it, but not enough to pay the $50 to buy it or rent it for longer than a few days.
56. Resistance: Retribution

Care much less about playing a PSP Resistance game than any other, as I don't like the PSP OR Resistance. Well, Resistance 1, anyways.
57. Super Scribblenauts

I really, really did not care for the original Scribblenauts. For reasons other than controls. I'll skip, thanks.
58. The Simpsons: Bart vs. the Space Mutants

Not possibly going to play this, but weird that it's even a game!
59. Punch-Out!!

Always thought about picking this up. Maybe post-new Nintendo console?
60. The World Ends with You

Probably the coolest DS game I never played.
61. Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse

Not interested in the least.
62. Kung-Fu Master

Being recommended for the NES. I know I like NES games, but seriously guys...?
63. Town & Country Surf Designs: Wood & Water Rage

...what?
64. Blaster Master

Guys I really don't want to buy retro-ass games on their original platforms. I'm not hooking up a NES to play Blaster Master.
65. Mickey Mousecapade

You know, it'd be really cool if they asked me if I wanted to play Beyond Good & Evil or something like that.
66. Golden Sun: Dark Dawn

That's better. I actually really liked the original Golden Sun, but I never got into the sequel. This seems like it's set quite a bit later, so I'm down.
67. Marble Madness

...Here we go again. Though I played a GBC version of this game that was pretty cool.
68. God of War: Ghost of Sparta

Lemme know when it's not a PSP game and I've beaten GoW 2 & 3.
69. Sonic Unleashed

I heard 50% of this is the promise of what Sonic could be and the other 50% is trashy God-of-War-ripoff. Probably won't ever buy it.
70. Rampage: Total Destruction

Probably never gonna play this.

I played this as a kid and found it to be trash. I bet it's still trash now.
73. Ridge Racer 3D

Not a chance in hell.
74. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Totally interested in getting this at launch.
75. Animaniacs

This game drove me INSANE as a kid. I still have it, and I wonder if it'd bother me as much now.
76. Rage

Let's let Bethesda make Fallout without the license! YAY!
77. Dance Central

I don't own a Kinect to play it on, and probably won't for a long, long time.
78. Madden NFL 11

For PS2. GREAAAAT.
79. The Saboteur

Irish Assassin in Nazi Paris, right? Sounds okay.
80. Streets of Rage 3

Probably never ever.
81. Jungle Book

Probably never gonna play this. :/
82. Batman Forever

Will see the movie before playing the going-to-be-bad game.
83. Sonic Colors

Specifically the Wii version. I actually have the DS version, and it's nice proof that Sonic games can still be fun even if that game in particular is not the best.
84. James Bond 007: Blood Stone

Thought this looked decent when it came out, but not a high priority.
85. Kirby: Super Star Ultra

If there's new content, fine. Otherwise, I still have it for SNES.
86. Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time

Always been interested in playing this one, as I loved Braid and liked Up Your Arsenal.
87. Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies

Surprised this isn't already on here. I'm considering it.
88. Just Cause 2

Played the demo and it was really, really cool. Would like to play more someday.
89. Yoshi's Island DS

Sure?
90. Killzone 3

Yeah, definitely gonna play this by the end of the year.
91. Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride

Didn't know this shipped as a DS game. Maybe someday.

Will probably play this in the next month or so.
93. Metroid: Other M

Surprised this didn't arrive sooner. Actually, I'll play this one. The gameplay seemed pretty cool when I played it at WizardWorld.
94. Donkey Kong Country Returns

Played it on a rental and liked it, but didn't love it. Will try it again in a year or two.
95. Star Wars: Empire at War

Didn't expect this to make an appearance. I thought it looked decent when it released. I was also like 14?
96. Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete

...weird.
97. Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg

One of those games you forget got made.
98. Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future

If there's a release other than the dreamcast version...fuck, I still won't play it.
99. Hydro Thunder

I have never ever liked Hydro Thunder ever.
