Games GiantBomb Users Recommend I Play
People recommend games on GB all the time. I figured I'd collect a clearer list here.

Don't remember why I caught this recommendation. Probably in one of my Tiny Wings/Dungeon Raid conversations.
Well, working from the bottom up here, I don't remember the user who recommended it to me, but they specifically recommended the game to me after I said I no longer trusted Kojima after the mess that was MGS4.
OH GOD I LOST ALL THE TEXT I HAD. I'm actually a couple of hours in and already seriously enjoying it.
Also recommended by the GameOn chat. Much higher endorsement, though some debate as to whether I should play the PSN version based on the PS1 release or the PSP remastered version with a new translation and bonus content. Eventually, the PSN version seemed to have won out due to an excessive use of "..." in the new translation and a weird aspect ratio on the PSP.
Found a nice thread on pre-2006 RPGs. I actually have a copy, but it's sitting at a friend's house because I couldn't run it on any of my PCs at the time...
"Fallout 1 & 2 are old but I feel they still stand up, I play 2 pretty often."-ModerateViolence.
I would enjoy playing the older Fallout games, though, especially considering how much I love Fallout 3. Also, apparently 5 bucks on Steam.
Always been on the periphery of my game knowledge. I know almost nothing about this game, but I may play it next year when I'm not focusing on new releases.
"Bloodlines is probably one of my favourite games"-ModerateViolence.
I have a copy on Steam; I actually really haven't played much Human Revolution yet, so I may play this first. (However, I also have Invisible War, which I don't think I'll play much of.)
"...and if [Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines is] being considered I'd say the original Deus Ex too."-ModerateViolence.
"It was originally going to be Ultima Underworld III but Arkane's deal with EA/Origin fell through so they released it as a standalone game. It's deep and extremely original. Also available on GoG."
"It's a really cool game in many respects. You draw runes in the air to cast spells, a la Black and White (that's the only similarity between the two though)."-SeriouslyNow
Original? Me likey.
"Dragon Age Origins is probably a good fit (although mainstream, it's still a damn fine game). You don't need a beastly PC if you run it on the lowest settings. "-Marz
Personally? From a number of perspectives, I don't like this game much anymore. But I think I really will try to finish it one day. Might brute-force it on easy.
"I recently installed Gothic, had it on my steam library for a while now and I can tell it's pretty neat, it has a unique control scheme, the npcs really seem to go about their daily business, nice day/night cycles, interesting combat system, all in all I think it's worth a try.."-onarum
Heard the name, but nothing else before. Day/night cycles and NPC's daily business seem rather Deadly Premonition-y to me, so consider that a selling point.
"Champions of Norrath. I loved that game when I played it on the PS2 and wish I still had my PS2 just so I could play it."-Still_I_Cry
I played this game as a thirteen-year-old and didn't like it, but I don't really remember it well enough to give a great opinion.
"Final Fantasy VII.....that's not mainstream right?"-Unknown_Pleasures
To be fair, I've never gone beyond the first disc of FFVII. I was stopped by a scratched Disc 2, and watched my brother play most of Disc 2 and Disc 3 beforehand, though he never beat the game either.
Next year? I think I'll be down to party.
