Games I've Completed To Prove I'm No Wuss

This is not a list of games I've ever completed. This is a list of games completed since my friend decreed that I had to beat a game a week (or advance another level in Fire Emblem.)

UPDATE 1: Wow, forgot to update this for a long time. I haven't missed a week yet, but I may have forgotten some of the specific dates for game completion.

UPDATE 2: I gave up...

List items

  • Completed on 10/18/2010 at 3:53 PM. Failed to change my opinion that while this is a really excellent game, is loses momentum before or after the train sequence, depending upon your preferences.

  • Completed on 10/29/2010. This game's "road challenge" mode was really fun to play through, and the songs on disc are still a blast.

  • Completed on 11/5/2010. Fallout 3=sick nasty.

  • Completed on 11/10/2010. This isn't the "light-world" completion (that was the same week as Rock Band 3.) No, this is the dark-world completion; though there are still some dark world levels left to do in worlds 4, 5, and 7, I've unlocked the true ending, and it was glorious. This game is so overly good that some of the other games to come out this year should be embarrassed.

  • Completed on 11/19/2010. This game had a really excellent story mode, easily the best since CoD 4. From a narrative perspective, it's a better story than the original Modern Warfare, but the gameplay and thematic content of MW were so engaging and exciting that it's still probably the better campaign.

    And zombies? SWEEEEEET.

  • Completed 11/29/2010. Okay, so I started to run out of steam. Can you blame me? But by "completion," I'm talking about S-Ranking the game and getting my high scores to the point where I'm in the top 5% overall rankings. If it hadn't been Thanksgiving weekend, though, this wouldn't have counted, but I also would've finished Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.

  • Completed 12/01/2010 at around 3:15 PM. This is easily the most addictive this franchise has gotten, and goddamn its ending. Like, I want to talk about this ending, but it's so WTF that I'm at a complete loss.

  • Completed 12/10/2010 at around 6:30 PM. The last four hours of this game take it from "Game of the Year Nominee" (must be mentioned, but not a heavy hitter) to "Game of the Year Contender" (I now understand how Brad and Vinny might pick it as their GOTY.)

  • Completed 1/5/2011. I took two weeks off in order to focus on Game of the Year, and came back strong. I had long given up on Mass Effect, but sure enough, I did actually finish the game. Though my major issues with the game are still present (namely the auto-saves) the game is still very strong, and sets up the EXCELLENT Mass Effect 2.

  • Completed 1/14/2011. I can't even talk about this game here and how amazing it is. If you've completed either a personal playthrough or watched a playthrough of this game, you can come talk to me and I'll tell you why I think it's more important than Red Dead Redemption.

  • Completed 1/18/2011. This game is amazing, and though my suicide mission went rather well, the sense of risk was ever-present. Everything that's been said to benefit Mass Effect 2 is completely accurate, and Lair of the Shadow Broker only exemplifies that (especially for those who romanced Liara in the first game.) Combined, ME and ME2 are only $20. GO DO IT!

(The week of 1/28/2011, I ascended to level 15 of Fire Emblem and gave up on Okami after reaching the great frozen north.)

  • Completed 1/31/2011 at around 11:30 pm. Fun game, but tapered towards its end. Mired with a whole lot of gameplay types that aren't as much fun as the races. Worth the $10 I spent on it, and I'll play it with friends a bunch, but definitely not a must-buy.

  • Completed 2/9/2011 at around 2:30 pm. I hated a lot of this game, but I ended up liking it at the end. I'll never understand the reverence people hold for this game, as most of the game is an awful grind, but the finale was ballsy enough that I was able to enjoy that part.

The train ended with the completion of Okami. Since then, I've completed a handful of games, but the game-a-week train stopped then.

It's a rough, rough game. But with perserverance and some inherent skill, you'll make it through. You play a lot of old-school platformers? I was a Sonic 2 fiend as a kid.

I'd really like to hear your reasoning on Deadly Premonition
