An old friend (game that is!)

I turned on World of Warcraft today with the goal of leveling my little priest. But I just didn't  feel like playing that much, and I had a lot of work that needed to be done. So, I decided to play something else, I just didn't know what at the time. The Nintendo DS was the obvious choice at least - since I am currently Xbox-free - but what to play, what to play? Chrono Trigger? Nah, I'll finish it this summer: sweet. Layton? Meh, been playing that one too much. Zelda? Whatever, I've already done everything there. Then, I stumpled onto something I haven't played for ages. To be more precise: Moero! Nekketsu Rhythm Damashii: Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2. Darn, this game rocks.

I can't really say that I'm good at it, but man is this a great game. I haven't played either Elite Beat Agents or the original Ouendan, and I cannot remember the reason why I even bought this one (since I am terrible at any music game), but I did and haven't regretted that decision even for one second. The music, the funky cheerleaders and everything about this game screams "Charm!" and the only thing that's not 100 % awesomedary is the spinners at higher difficulties - but whatever. I'm still a little bummed though, since I haven't finished "Sekai wa sore o ai to yobundaze" on the "Hard"-difficulty. Guess I'll have to train some more hours (lol) in order to get to Insane.

And on another note, nothing.

Thank you for not playing WoW.

Just don't act like the guys in EBA or Ouendan in public and you'll be fine.  The love song with the dead guy is my favorite...forgot the name.

Is Ouendan worth importing? Is it tough to understand, or should I just get Elite Beat Agents?

If you can't play Ouendan...you shouldn't be gaming.  It's basic stuff...and you don't need to know a lick of Japanese.  Just get a FAQ for story.

After buying Oendan 2 I ended up buying the rest of the games in reverse order, starting with EBA and then Oendan 1. They're great games. Man, when I finally finished the last level on hard, after attempting it for what felt like several hours and long into the night, I snapped and started laughing manically...out of happiness.

I actually went back and tried it again recently, and finished it. That makes the total number of times that I've finished that level 2. Man it's hard, much harder than the final level of Ouendan 1 on hard, but so, so satisfying.
