The only game I've really played that I've been so enthralled by that I didn't notice seven hours had gone by. With a great character driven story and choices that at time defy the traditional paragon and renedage choices, this game is definably one I'll be coming back to time and time again.
Red Dead Redemption is an accomplishment of the storytelling and world-building that Rockstar can achieve, regardless of genre. With a cast of full realised characters (ignoring Irish)this game surprises with character choices that don't normally happen within the genre itself or within the sandbox genre. It is a true Western game and while I hold my breath on a sequel, it proves that Rockstar can achieve true, mature storytelling and tell a story in whatever genre they desire, a case I hope continues on in L.A. Noire.
Enslaved has its faults, but it is a beautifully realised game, one which rivals many higher-budget games due to its motion capture technology. There is something to the emotional level of a character when one can see the emotion displayed through their motions and face, breaking past normal video game character boundaries. While in other games it may take a good hour for one to become invested in a character, Enslaved manages to grab its players in a minute due to the wonderful preformances of the Enslaved cast. And unlike many games, it leaves its players with a question, one that leaves its players thinking long after the credits have ended.
