Fave ps2 games

These games are the games I enjoyed the most in ps2.  Not necessarily in order (except the top 5 ones).

NOT YET FINISHED as well

List items

  • PS2's premiere fighting game. Had a real blast playing this one. Lots of replay value especially they came back from their roots. The customizations and rankings great additions and the depth of the game (numerous characters, fighting system and mechanics) made this my fave ps2 game of all time.

  • Could be my all time favorite RPG. The great story and plot twists (Tidus and dream zanarkand, Auron being an unsent) really amazed me. The side quests are awesome too (esp. Blitball, Monster Arena and the Dark Aeons). And yes I also liked this one better than ff13.

  • Similar case to P3 FES. It gets the nod over P3 FES for the story being more light and less morbid, and the characters were more appealing.

  • The best Resident Evil of all time. It was a lot more scary than all of the RE games as well. Not only you did NOT fight zombies here but crazed, plague infested villagers, you were fighting horrific bosses, solving puzzles, exploring castles, ammo crunch and were hunted by satanist looking characters. Playing Leon is also more kick ass than Chris and Sheva as well.

  • May not be the most critically approved Tony Hawk game but it is the last I truly enjoyed. Building the Skate Ranch was great so is the game's ost and the additional mechanics (like focus). Hope

  • Another game that exceeds it sequel (DMC4). Being able to show Dante's origins was nice and the combo system was really enjoyable as well. It is like you are playing fighting game. The story was great and what I like the most is that you battle the bosses and obtain new awesome weapons or upgrades which was really satisfying. Another plus is that you could use Vergil in the special edition as well.

  • One of my first PS2 games. The tag feature was really enjoyable and is the reason why a lot of Tekken fans demanded TTT2 more than Tekken 7.

  • My favorite basketball game for the ps2. It also features my favorite NBA player that time. The dynasty mode was in its peak for me (not too simple nor complicated) and the signature moves improved from nba live 06. Comparing it to NBA Live 08 and 09 this was still the most enjoyable for me. The upgrades for 08 and 09 werent as good as the one they did for 07. The controls for the signature moves in NBA live 08 really turned me off as well.

  • The best super hero RPG game for me of all time. The story of the game was nice and almost all of your favorite marvel super heroes and villains were there. The battle system was better than Ultimate Alliance 2 too as well.

  • My favorite guitar hero game. I like the songs here more than the previous guitar heroes. Being able to unlock and play as Tom Morello was a nice bonus.

  • I never thought mashing up Disney and Final Fantasy would be possible. But Square Enix did it really well. It appealed to majority of RPG enthusiasts. The cameos of various characters from both worlds were awesome too. Another great thing about Kingdom Hearts 2 was the gummi ship improvement. They really added depth to this concept and vastly improved it from the dull gummi ships of KH1. And being an RPG fan, the sidequests here were also enjoyable.

  • Playing as Kratos was really awesome. He established himself as one hell of a bad ass. The story is great (lust for vengeance) and the puzzle solving scenarios were great and mind boggling too.

  • For some reason I felt more satisfied with God of war 1 than 2. Maybe its bec. the ending better and didnt leave you hanging.

  • The best Spiderman game of all time. The graphics really represented the Ultimate universe and the plot here is also canon to the Ultimate Universe as well. Exploring New York also never felt better.

  • I played this game a lot being a wrestling fan (though my interest in the wwe has dwindled through the years). It perfectly integrated wrestling gameplay and the special matches (like HIAC, Elimination Chamber, TLC) were highly enjoyable as well. The game has also evolved in a good way like adding the GM game and tweaking several game mechanics. And for a wrestling fan nothing could beat using your your own created wrestler whooping some ass.

  • I got to play as one of my favorite movie characters here. The game was sort of a continuation of the movie, as you play a surviving Tony Montana after the assassination plot by Sosa on the movies ending. It was not also just a GTA rip ff. It was unique in a lot of ways. The missions were simple but fun as well.

  • This is the MK for the ps2 I enjoyed the most. The konquest mode was nice and it looked like you were playing another MK game. The freedom of exploring the various MK realms was satisfying for me. I wanted to put MK armaggedon, but the character endings there were lazy and its konquest mode was really short.

  • Still an awesome MGS game, but it could have ranked higher if the plot twist was not using Raiden (damn he isnt even in the cover!) for majority of the game and if the cut scenes and codecs (esp with Rose Mary) didnt feel like a 100 hour drag.

  • A game based on the Godfather movie. Bringing down rival families for the Corleones were nice. It had its setbacks (especially the exploration, the buildings seemed the same), but it was alright nonetheless.
